well, not that great! he was better that average. seems like the thread has stalled over this one, so the answer was James Hylton. he went 107 races between his only two career victories. anyone with a question step up...Quote:

Years unavailible as to give someone else a chance to correctly answer this query.
Dale Earnhardt.................6 years
Bump..............
Dale Earnhardt.................6 years
Let me clarify, I mean how many years have gone by between there being back-to-back champions(Drivers). In other words...whoever is the next to go back-to-back will bookend with Jeff Gordon as the two most recent drivers to do so, setting a record. What is the current longest streak. Name the drivers.
5 years ....Buck Baker to Joe Weatherly
5 years ....Joe Weatherly to David Pearson.
These have been the longest gaps between drivers that have won back-to-back Championships............except of course the present gap when the last time was when Jeff Gordon won back to backs with the last of the B to B in 1998.
Nice job muggle. Your turn. Cheers.
There have been approx. 49 drivers that were named rookie of the year in Nascar. How many of them never won a race in their Nascar career.
I'll guess 18. :D
I counted 16 but may have missed a few and will give it to you. Your go.Quote:

The Rookie of the Year program begin in 1958.
Since it’s beginning how many ROTY have went on to win a Cup Championship ?
8
Richard Petty
David Pearson
Dale Earnhardt
Rusty Wallace
Alan Kulwicki
Jeff Gordon
Tony Stewart
Matt Kenseth
That is correct Alexamateo !!! http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...thum/bravo.gif
It is your turn to post the next question. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nk/thum/1u.gif
On previous question:
There have been 15 rookie-of-the-year award winners who have never won atop division race, or 17 if you include Ken Rush and Blackie Pitt who were unofficial rookies of the year before NASCAR started the official award in 1958.
They were:
Kenny Irwin
Mike Skinner
Jimmy Hensley
ROb Moroso
Dick Trickle
ken Bouchard
Ronnie Thomas
Skip Manning
Bruce Hill
Larry Smith
Walter Ballard
Bill Dennis
Doug Cooper
Tom Cox
Woodie Wilson
I'll stay with the same theme, but with a twist.
Juan Pablo Montoya will probably be this year's rookie of the year, but if he had come up in the 60's, he would not have been eligible because of his previous CART championship.
Using that knowledge, Name the driver who won the most races in his "rookie" year.
Tony Stewart with 3 wins.
Muggle, that is correct for official rookies, but look at my question again. The driver I am looking for was not an official rookie although he had only started 4 Nascar races prior to his first full season.
Dick Hutcherson in 1965 with 9 victories and a second place points finish. but according to Nascar's rules at that time he was ineligible due to being the previous season's IMCA champion. champions from rival series were deemed ineligible for ROTY in those days.
Correct! :bounce: That's exactly it, back then you truly had to be an unknown rookie to win rookie of the year.Quote:

Jimmey Hensley, 1992 ROTY.

They say the only lap that counts is the last one. Whose the most recent winner to only lead one lap of a race.
Besides Today!!! :DQuote:
