Polish driver Grzegorz Grzyb has signed with Suzuki Motor Poland and will compete in Polish championship with Suzuki Swift Super 1600. At the same time he will also compete in Slovakian championship.
Grzyb is twice Polish Super 1600 champion with Peugeot:

and Suzuki
http://www.rallyonline.pl/ft.php?idg=1078&pg_[go]=32
His first rally in the new car will be Rallye Matador Tatry in Slovakia and then Elmot Rally in Poland.
I thought Grzyb should have driven a Clio S1600 this season ??
No, you are probably talking about Michal Kosciuszko, who will drive Renault Clio S1600 in JWRC. But Grzyb will drive Suzuki.

The former ERC champion Renato Travaglia will be present in the second round of Italian Championship, the San Marino Rally. The car will be a Mitsubishi EVO IX from Rally Project. He didn't make the registration in Italian Championship, and so that is unclear if it is a single participation...
Great to see Renato back in action!!Quote:

Guys from Italy do You have any news from Luca Pedersoli Team? I hope he didn't retire, and we can see him in action.
Next Weekend, Jordi Zurita will run the Rallye du Vallespir (30 march - 1 april), Jeff Berenguer, Maraval, Genesca... and a lot of catalan drivers are in the entry list.

I already wrote this news in the "whale thread", Le NaRcx !! :p :
ups... what a mistake!
One question, the Maraval's Maxi is the one that had Enjolràs in 2005? I was in Cevennes 2005 and this Maxi was really impressive, I never saw a Maxi like that!
Yes, Maraval's 306 Maxi comes from Enjolras Sport... ;)
I have found a article about Karl-Friedrich Beck, especially for you Tom.
It is in German. If you don't understand it, please ask me to translate it.

Thanks Wim Impreza...I already knew "Charly" Beck was back in the french 206 Cup because I read the news on the Paverani Competition team website 2 months ago ;)
It's formidable news and I hope he will be among the fastest drivers at Auxerre in 3 weeks :bounce:

Miguel Fuster won the st event of Spanish Champ. with is new Punto S2000 from MRT by Nocentini (an Italian team)
Fuster showed how good Punto S2000 is on Tarmac roads, off course Fuster is on of the best Spanish drivers at the present, and his is running on that stages for more than 15 years, but, there were some other good drivers with good cars and they didn't got the pace of Fuster.
http://i9.tinypic.com/3yplmyh.jpg
Alberto Hevia with a Polo S2000 was second overall, in my opinion the "problem" is in the car, maybe VW Polo S2000 isn't so good as Punto is. Hvia es a fast driver, but he didn't go the pace of Fuster.. and finished more than one minute behind Fuster.
http://personales.ya.com/derallye/me...s/P1010147.jpg
Xavier Pons was 3rd overall with an EVO IX, a car that he know perfectly, he started the rally winning the opening stage but after that.. he only won one more stage.. I think it was a little bit disappointing performance by Pons...
http://personales.ya.com/derallye/me...s/P1010153.jpg
4th overall was Pedro Burgo, Champion of GR N in 2006. He had a little off in one of the morning stages and after that he was clearly out of the fight for a podium finish.
http://personales.ya.com/derallye/me...s/P1010241.jpg
After some years away from the competition, Puras got a 5th place, he had some gear box and brakes problems in the car, maybe on next rally he could improve his performance and get the right pace.
http://personales.ya.com/derallye/me...s/P3240084.jpg
The S1600 cars were all the time far away from Top times... the best S1600 was Sergio Perez in his Clio.. he was "only" 7tg overall...
http://personales.ya.com/derallye/me...s/P1010156.jpg
About retirements... Joan Vinyes, with a C2 S1600 had eletric problems and was forced to retire early in the rally..
http://personales.ya.com/derallye/me...s/P3230017.jpg
Sergio Vallejo and Yerai Lemes were the biggest surprises of the rally. both were doing an exceptional rally.
Vellejo with his GT Porsche was consistently fast in the stages.. he even won one stage, but after that victory he was forced to retire with mechanical problems.
http://personales.ya.com/derallye/me...s/P3240003.jpg
Lemes is a young canarian boy that is running Spanish Champ. campaign, he was going really well, but unfortunately he had an off and was forced to retire.

Thanks Madiera Rally, I was impressed by the performance of the S2000s here. Can you let us know if/when there are any vidoes of this event?
An important rally happened in eastern France yesterday and today, with many WRC and other 4WD GrA cars, the Rallye d'Epernay Vins de Champagne... ;)
Many retirements among the drivers with big cars :s
Paul Bizalion(Toyota Corolla WRC) off road, Jean-Paul Grohens(Peugeot 206 wrc), broken front wheel after an off, Jean-Jacques Lebrun(Toyota Celica GT) mechanical, Christophe Harroue(Ford Escort Cosworth) mechanical, Armando Pereira(Peugeot 307 wrc "the whale") gearbox before penultimate stage of rally, ... :(
Finally the rally was won by former winner of the event, Alain Vauthier(206 wrc) in front of Jean-Marie Lexcellent(206 wrc) and José Barbara(Subaru Impreza WRC) :)
Exellent result for the 2WD cars, Daniel Forès(306 Maxi) finishing 5th, Thierry Chkondali(206 RC GrA) 6th, Stéphane baudier(Clio Maxi FA7)7th,... ;)
