This is an extra-rally for him, he will continue driving for Honda for sure. Don't forget next season Rallye Principe de Asturias will be in IRC calendar!Quote:

Sola can fall in love with the s2000 but his pocket is empty so is a tragic love storyQuote:

Bad news for British fans as the Corolla S2000 will not be seen in the BRC for the last two rounds.

The "Corolla/Auris in Europe" story seems to be the worst in the S2000 world(even worse than the Polo) :s
After Vitor Sŕ and homologation problem for the Corolla he was about to drive on Madeira championship this year, I never heard about the Toyota S2000 on european rallies(except sometimes in UK)... :(
It's a pity, it would be nice to see as many different s2000 cars. :(
"Even worse than the Polo", damn, why does the polo have such a bad image? Just because of Czopick... Look at the Punto, how many technical problems did it have, does anybody say it's bad? The Polo has done several victory's and kicked Punto's en 207's ass in Ypres. Just bad luck caught them out, just like many others were caught out.
I can understand why the Corolla story has stopped, because they don't made any succes. I've heard Grifone would do the Auris togheter with Toyota SA.
We cannot say that until now the Polo collected rallies and victories in Europe, Czopik or not !!!
But you can't call it worse either, that is my point.Quote:

In my eye the Polo is very competetive car. Unfortunately it wasn't run it manufacture team like Fiat or Pug, but I'm sure it can be pretty fast. The biggest problem is that there are run only few cars divided to too many drivers. But it isn't problem of the car itself. We shouldn't measure abilities of this car through Czopik's performances, because he showed nothing also in Punto...
Isn't reliability also a problem on the Polo ??
I mean not only about Czopik case, but also Loix and Hevia of course...
The main problem of Polo, in my point of view is the developer team, in this case, René Georges.
Attention, I'm not telling that René Georges isn't a good team, or something, but we can't compare them to an official team like Fiat or Peugeot...
René Georges could have the best engineers, the best drivers, but for sure they don't have the same budget has official teams... and that's make a huge difference...
If I look at Puntos or Pugs, how many errors they have, i don't think Polo run out of average of S2000 cars. Let's wait to have more Polos on the tracks and then we can make objective statistics ;) When Punto was on the stages in first year of it's life, there were also soooooooooooooo many bugs...
[Madeira-Rally]: I agree. I think this differrence is also seen between René georges Rally Sport and SA VW a bit.
Freddy Loix drives again the Polo S2000 this weekend in the 6th event of the Belgium Rally Championship, the 'Omloop of Flandres'. See http://www.omloopvanvlaanderen.be ;)
Were we can follow live results ;) ?Quote:

There is a mention about the results of 2006, but they are live results of 2007. ;)
Loix retired with a broken driveshaft, it's a pitty for him. It's going much better for Hevia in Spain.
But you are right, developing as a private team is very hard!
Listen all, there is no developing problem with the Polo S 2000, the car is good and fast and is being developed by VW Racing South Africa, where it also is running good... Fiat has a big advantage with the Punto and so does Peugeot.... we VW and and also Toyota need minimum 1 or 2 years to get everyting right on asphalt, ( we only did 1 Snow rally were we were 2nd until Czopik put the car in a snow wall and we did 1 Gravel rally also with czopik were he was 4th until he went off the road and loose 17 minutes ) we learn every rally more and more. do not forget that the 1st afphalt version of the Polo was only made in beginning of November 2006 !! and for now the car has already made some good results Hevia win a few Times and Loix also.... Czopik was fast in Poland but was unlucky that he had some things that we never had with the other 2 drivers and they all 3 drive the same cars. ( and Czopik was also not fast in the Punto ). and now we go to Portugal soon were i hope we can do some good things with some interesting driver(s).
This coming week-end Alessandro Perico runs the Rally Cittŕ di Bassano in the GMA Racing 207 S2000 :)
