Ah, well Linux is operating system for personal computers. It runs on various hardware platforms. Simplified version of UNIX, if You know what is it of course.

I only know of Windows. Is the person who invented the penguin system richer that Bill of the Gates ?

I have no idea. I know of windows and use it from time to time to play games, RBR is really good. What is BG doing of all his money?

GIMP is for plebs who cannot afford expensive things so the obvious answer is YES.

Been using it as my only OS since 2005... And GIMP is great for some purposes. Photoshop is probably better for a professional but for amatures, nothing beats free and simple to use.
EDIT: And Stefan, it is, supposedly, possible to run Photoshop via wine.
