They want to try to challenge the new Skoda Fabia R5?:)
So Skoda is really starting?
That was the plan bu I have no idea whether the car was really homologated or not...
A 2015 teaser of Jan Černý. You can try to identify the sound at the end :p

Yes, I think so.

Czech season starts next weekend with Valašská rally. It's part of the Rallysprint series and Cup 2+ which were newly formed out of previous rallysprint championship and cup. Despite quite poor rally route for 2015 the entries are very good thanks to many foreign drivers which use the event as testing. There are nearly no Czech top crews though...

Calendar of Czech Opel Adam cup including five local rallysprints and German 3-Städte rallye. As You can see on the entry list for Valašská rally there is six crews entered there with Peták and Vraj jr. being favorites. Peták as an old fox shall be also a kind of mentor for the cup crews.

Live results of Valašská rally here: http://rally-base.com/2015/valasska-rally-2015/
First stage starts at 9:37.
This rally was an epic disaster of the organization. First stage canceled because it was unprepared, second due to big crashes (that's valid reason) and sixth due to another organization issue (officially too high average speed in the first pass). Therefore two of six stages were not run by anyone and another was canceled for the crews after No.26. That means everybody with higher number did only 3 stages and nobody did more than 4. Moreover there were big time delays and the stages were let's say the worse from previous editions of this event. Altogether it's especially shameful with such a great number of Polish and Slovak guests.
When it was running it was spectacular though. Polish and Slovak drivers were running the show as expected as most of Czech top crews was missing. Odložilík had some issues with the car in the morning and didn't manage to fight back.
The results with a complete podium for foreign guests and Fiesta R5
1. Koči (SVK, Fiesta R5) 24:38,6
2. Grzyb (PL, Fiesta R5) +5,5
3. Habaj (PL, Fiesta R5) +9,7
4. Melichárek (SVK, Fiesta WRC) +10,5
5. Odložilík (CZ, Impreza WRC S12B) +15,0
6. Nivette (PL, Fiesta R5) +29,9
7. Oleksowicz (PL, Fiesta R5) +40,6
8. Vlček (CZ, Fabia S2000) +50,3
9. Kasperczyk (PL, Fiesta R5) +1:00,6
10. Ševčík (CZ, Evo IX gr.N) +1:26,1
Here some spectacular things!
Biggest jump of the rally by Lukasz Habaj

Huge crash of Jaroslaw Szeja (again a jump with gr.N car...)

And a spectacular video

In the end the results are no more as I wrote them. Many crews retired after the last stage as a protest against the organization, namely Odložilík, Melichárek, Oleksowicz, Kasperczyk, Nivette, Hladík, Březík, Vavřík, Hanuš, Lichovník Jiří and Václav, Hordossy and maybe also Trnovec.
[QUOTE=Mirek;1047897]This rally was an epic disaster of the organization.
Every year the same problem there, isn't it.

He will drive a car from Kresta's team just like Tarabus and some others. It's the best S2000 he can get here.
Is there a reason why Skoda entered Rallye Sumava with a Fabia S2000 an not R5?
They will start with R5. I'm 99% sure about that. I think they only sent the entry form before the car was homologated. They can freely change the car within the same class.
Nice onboards of Martin Koči

I don't think he would test on other tyres just for fun. I will keep it in sight during the rally but I guess he switched.
After Rally Pribram 2014 Pech said he tried Pirellis there (because he had nothing to lose being already czech champion 2014) and he was surprised and happy with its performance. So as Mirek said... ;-)
This new ERC Pirelli tyres are not worse comparing to Michelin.
The rally starts with a circuit stage called Čínov. It's a boring stage for modern cars but it's absolute classic of the event. The most famous corner of the stage is called Munari's corner. Here You can see why :)

That was in 1973 but as You can see even after 40 years it's still the same :p

Great photogallery from test of Černý. Already with livery which confirms that Kresta made him his successor as most of the sponsors are Kresta's personal ones.

According to Kresta they need to see if the cooperation between his team and Černý works. For the start they will do four events in Czech championship and based on the experience they will decide whether to continue or not and how. Kresta said that the cooperation may be years long if both sides are happy.
