Going into more detail on the issue which ended his Acropolis, the Frenchman believes the alternator bearing was to blame.
“I took everything apart to make the alternator loose so that we could put the belt back on and make it strong,” he explained. “I rebuilt everything and it was on a downhill, so we could jump-start the car.
“The engine started but 200 metres later it switched off again. The belt had jumped off again, so I think the bearing of the alternator broke was broke.”

The WRC Rally 1 top class is not fun anymore. Each rally this year has become more and more a lottery because of technical problems, handling problems which vary from Rally to Rally, from team to team. This is much less a factor with the current Rally 2 cars which are much more durable. I would be happy to trade in the Rally 1 cars for a much closer fight with Rally 2 and Rally 3 cars only.Quote:

Also Loutraki is a nicer city next to the beach. To be honest, I have missed SS Klenia a bit!
