Jakeš leading after SS2.
Tomaštík wins the last rallysprint after a fantastic battle with Jakeš and Odložilík till the last meter. Fight of Dohnal and Kahle lasted till the end too and the one of Adolf and Březík was decided by just one tenth. There were very few retirements among top crews, only Vlček with Fabia S2000 who crashed and Zimmermann with technical problems from the second place in gr.N .
1. Tomaštík (Impreza WRC S12B) 39:30,8
2. Jakeš (DS3 R5) +3,1
3. Odložilík (Fiesta R5) +7,3
4. Sýkora (Fiesta R5) +42,2
5. Dohnal (207 S2000) +55,9
6. Kahle (Fabia WRC) +57,3
7. Adolf (Fabia S2000) +1:34,5
8. Březík (Evo IX gr.N) +1:34,6
9. Trněný (Fabia WRC) +1:53,6
10. Pešl (Evo IX gr.N) +2:01,5
In the end there were 92 crews classified in the finish. I don't remember for a very long time such small number of retirements!
Final standings of rallysprint championship: 1. Tomaštík, 2. Sýkora, 3. Vlček. 2WD: 1. Rujbr, 2. Vopatřil, 3. Smékal.

http://www.rallykrkonose.cz Fatal accident on Rally Krkonose... R.I.P...
Yes, unfortunately it is true. Miloš Vágner, driver of Fabia S2000, died and his well known co-driver Petr Gross was seriously injured in a crash into a barn. Petr Gross was airlifted to a hospital and his state is said to be stabilized. Hopefully he gets better.
The rally was canceled. I'm afraid this might be an end of this event. There were huge problems already during the season when the date was moved several times and in the end it was hold only for few cars out of any championship...
:(
By the looks of it, quite a bizarre and bad luck accident... :/
The car crashed by half of it's side into a wall and stopped instantly. You can see it stands where it crashed, no other movement, spinning or anything. It just stopped from speed to zero. Even though it is not very destroyed this kind of accidents is very bad because there is huge acceleration on internal organs and brain. I think there was some similar fatal accident on circuits this year where driver died despite having the cockpit nearly untouched.
R.I.P.
Another bad day for Czech rallying ... :-(
Sad news! RIP
Mirek, what kind of seats and safety devices were on board?
I don't have proper information but I'm quite sure it was all according to valid FIA regulations. I think Miloš used Recaro seats with side head restraints in his other cars.
Today there was a press release about Petr Gross. He is said to be in serious but not critical condition. He is kept in artificial coma due to a brain edema.

Do You have any fresh information about Petr Gross?

WRC are now allowed in Czech main championship ?
Yes, I wrote about it some weeks back. Basically everything is upside down now. Short summary...
- only one championship title from two-days long events
- the championship is not international anymore
- WRC cars are allowed under a condition of VR homologation date from 2006 or older, also only cars having Czech registration before the end of 2014 (that's some really weird rule)
- tyres according to old FIA rules (2011+) are allowed, hand-cutting and warming is allowed too
- sprint championship is transformed into a cup for only 2WD cars but with very free rules allowing also some non-homologated cars
- there is a Cup 2+ held together with sprints which allows 4WD cars including most modern WRC cars
- there is a new class in historic championship allowing gr.A cars up to 1995
Was Valais in the Czech championship this year? Or just a strong presence?
Valais is 900 km from Czech republic with a little place called Germany between us and Switzerland :) Maybe You meant Jänner?
All Czechs who started in Valais (Tarabus, Orsák, Tlusťák and Hudec) were ERC regulars this year.
Entry list for Prague rallysprint which returns to the famous Strahov city circuit! It will be sure spectacular and if I have time I'm going to spectate for the first time in last four years...

Change of car for Tomáš Enge. He will drive Audi Sport Quattro.
Prazsky Rallysprint won by Vaclav Pech, in front of Melicharek and Kostka. http://rally-base.com/2014/tipcars-p...lysprint-2014/
The results are not really important...
I watched SS1 and SS3 only. Both on the south side of circuit which is fast and wide with some chicanes. Almost nobody tried any kind of show there. The most drove very clean. There were some exceptions like especially Niki Glisic. From top drivers only Černý and Hozák were driving for show. Pity the Audi of Enge broke down.
All in all the new cars are working too good for roads like this. It was like watching circuit racing. I didn't enjoy it very much to say the truth.
Interesting to see Martin Koci with Fiesta R5 on entry list
It was more interesting to watch him on stage :) He looked very fast and his times were great too for first outing.
