I think only Citroën, Hyundai and Toyota fans don't wish it too :)
Maybe 1 + option (rational choice by the champ).

The references indicate that even Malcolm Wilson would not attend the Australian date to finalize all aspects related to the contract and prepare the logistics to immediately start the French tests.

Within the framework of multiple references, the range of possibilities begins to be narrowed after the cancellation of VW activity in the WRC.
Today, with great force, the possibility is established for Tommi Makinen to fulfill his dream of presenting an all Finnish team.
In fact, the negotiations with Ogier seem to have failed, mainly because the economic option from MSport seems insurmountable.
In this way all signs mark the hiring of Jari Matti Latvala and Esapekka Lappi next to Juho Hanninen to start in January next season.
With 31 years, 10 world victories and a potential that can not be ignored, Latvala will look for the denied opportunity of a title at the highest level.
Ogier doesn't need the long-term security so much as he knows he'll be able to move again easily in 12 months time. A one-year deal seems perfectly logical. Could be further options to remain if Ford come back to the WRC. But this will allow Ogier to see which team has built the best car too.

Please be true !
I don't understand - I'm quite a big supporter of Paddon and I am also a fan of Neuville. Does the fact that they are not friends personally and the fact that it was because of Paddon that the public knows they aren't friends mean that he must think Neuville must do worse than him, or that his fans should wish Neuville to do badly? That sounds nuts. Especially since they are on the same team, but even if they weren't.
not a trustworthy site it seems?

@eWRCresults Ogier won't move anywhere until Rally Australia is complete. Never trust an argentinian site. They just want your visit. ;)

@JoMoWRC @eWRCresults I'm totally agree with you @JoMoWRC
I think you're reading a different script to everyone else.
My recollection is that, when he arrived at Hyundai, Paddon was respectful of both his team mates and looking forward to learning from them. It was only when he started showing them a clean pair of heels consistently and Neuville buckled under pressure that the trouble started, firstly by management pointing out the obvious and then with Neuville reacting poorly ... at one point even accusing Paddon of sabotage.
I think you'll find that fans of Paddon actually hold a great deal of admiration for Neuville and hope that both can work together to achieve the ultimate prize for the team.
The most interesting part is this one:
“Ogier could claim a compensation from VW for financial loss and that option was settled giving a big help to MSport budget, as VW will pay Ogier next season salary.”
Problably that’s why it’s said this is only a one year deal.
The internet seems perfect to create or spread rumors…it’d be nice to see this one turning out to be true.
So four drivers have recently tested the 2017 Fiesta... maybe M-Sport are trying to accelerate the 'shakedown' of the car before Ogier tries it ?
M-Sport
1. Ogier
2. Tänak
3. Camilli
DMACK
Evans
Adapta
Østberg (2016 car in MC)
so, according Wilson 6 cars in Portugal,
maybe Prokop (he tested 2017 car in first sessions)?
Latest rumours - dont know if its true - is that Toyota will not have Latvala or Mikkelsen because then they cant blame drivers if car is not fast enough.
these rumours say Häninen, Lappi and Suninen.
If this is the case I will be deeply disapointed.
No disrespect too lappi and Suninen, byt when you have two top drivers like Latvala and Mikkelsen floating around, this is the chance of a life time, and those two would speed up the development prosess immensely. And would make Toyota a contender from the word go.
Mikkelsen in Adapta Team Norway?
Latvala to WRX?
Come on Lundefauret, that’s not a rumor, that’s a joke…
Anyone can believe that Makinen would prefer to spend 2 or 3 millions of Toy’s budget on his team development than on a top driver salary, bur if he can get Latvala or Mikkelsen almost for free (considering VW’s likely compensations) there’s no way he wouldn’t take them, even if the car turns out to be a crap (which I don’t believe).
If those two drivers will not go to Toyota it would be because they don't want to... Makkinen would be totally crazy it that's true. No way that rumour is true. But well, I was sure also that Britain would have remained in UE and Hillary would have won but...
These were the three guys Motorsport News said were about to sign - prior to the VW issue kicking off.
Bit strange they were so clearly after Meeke then if this is where they are now at. I'm not sure to be honest. It's a long-term commitment from Toyota so why not get quick guys in from the word go. If it is true then all the sh*t this forum has slung at Toyota would be warranted.
Tommi saying he'll look at all possibilities - http://www.autosport.com/news/report...medium=twitter
Mikkelsen has been in meetings with mäkinen, according to rumours in Norway. Same rumour says latvala quit WRC, going to be official after Australia. I don't know if the rumour is belivable.

We don’t know VW’s drivers contract clauses, but generally contracts can be disputed and additional compensations claimed when the contract purpose is not respected by the employer. One possible settlement can be a deal with a new employer, in order to share the employee salary payement till the projected duration of the contract expires. This means MSport could only pay a small part (or even nothing) of Ogier’s wage till the end of ’17.
No, it's completely false. Latvala himself and his manager Timo Jouhki have repeatedly said on Finnish media that quitting the WRC is not an option.
And regarding Mikkelsen, in this story
http://www.iltasanomat.fi/ralli/art-2000001950650.html
published yesterday in Finnish media, Mäkinen says that Mikkelsen is not the #1 choice for Toyota.
No surprise for Mikkelsen.
If Ogier chose M-Sport, there will be only one seat for either Latvala or Mikkelsen.
If Makinen prefers Latvala, it will be difficult for Mikkelsen to find a seat for next year (at least the beginning of the season).
Hanninen must drive full-year, especially the rallyes in the beginning, as he was the development driver. The third seat will only be part-season so Makinen will probably prefer a young driver such as Lappi of Suninen.
If Ogier goes to M-Sport, Tanak has yet signed and he has shown he is fast. And as a third driver, Malcolm may be forced to take a pay driver as Ostberg (or in the worst case Bertelli) or to keep Camilli to avoid to pay contract release.
D-Mack could be an option but they may prefer Evans who is a consistent driver and knows their tyres. However, D-Mack may have a great opportunity to make a good season if they sign a Evans-Mikkelsen line-up.
Lavalas heart and passion is pure Rallying. If he doesn't get a seat at Toyota, or Dmack, my guess is that he will even pay for driving - if that is required. Latvala has a true passion for the sport.
if i would be Dick Cormack i would any day take Latvala or Mikkelsen instead of Evans...nothing against Evans but the speed and experience that Mikkelsen and Latvala have is just another level...but i guess its not just up to Cormack to decide and i think these two guys have too big egos to go such a small team and not having the best tire.
Possible but unlikely.
No, we don't know what is in the contracts ... but we can make an educated guess.
The drivers will get a termination payout, which may, or may not, be equivalent to a year's salary. Or more.
After which they'll be free agents on the open market.
If they choose to discount their services due to their Beetleworks payout that's up to them.
Does Seb seem like the charitable type to you?
If Andreas don't have a wheel in 2017 it will be very sad! He deserves a lot since 2013, so he haved to be in WRC next season!
Camilli, Breen or Lefebvre with a seat and not Mikkelsen ? That's a very bad joke!
M-sport has at least 1 place available. Toyota has 2. They are the three best driver in the world. I think they all will get a seat.
The problem is for guys like Lappi and Suninen that will struggle to have the chance they deserve next year. These trains don't pass too many times...
I bet Toyota has at least two drivers signed already for weeks.
