What do people mean by M-Sport 'jokers' - could the the R5+ modifications now be submitted for homologation ?
"The Fiesta R5+ incorporates a modified turbo and air-intake system. The standard 32mm restrictor has also been replaced with a 34mm example which provides the engine with an extra 30hp."
R5+ cannot be homologated with FIA. It is just for national championships. Maybe it only runs in UK?Quote:

Maybe not 4wd, but a widebody model, and a buffed up engine.
I'm 99% sure that not. Maybe some rs comes later but sure without any wide body kit.

Hmmm, I'd say probably not. The Fabia Mk3 doesn't have a vRS, which I think is a shame; as I think the Mk3 is a decent looking car - far better than the Mk2 which was not a great looker.Quote:

Andy, I wouldn't be sure about that. If You look back in time both the Mk1 and Mk2 RS came much later than the initial stock model. With the Mk2 RS the rhetorics was same but despite that they made it.
In fact there was a serious reason why it was so late with Mk2 as the DQ200 gearbox didn't fit in the platform. Originally they didn't want to modify it but later they did.

The point you are missing here is that rally fans are a tiny part of the market. Having a motorsport programme still reflects well on Skoda as a brand but the amount of people who actively follow rallying, especially in the UK, is minuscule.Quote:

Rallying has become a party for themselves. We customers can buy boring FWD cars with WRC sticker on the side. They can keep that piece of junk and stick up where the sun does not shine.
We customers finance the whole motorsport activities. If you don t buy new cars they don t make money. So it s about time to give us something in reward like mitsubishi did with the Evo RS series. Mechanical Diffs and 300 hp 4wd.
