I know, it's just that the reason for the FIA to start using the wider snow tires where so they would fit on gravel rims. So it would be against there own rules i guess to suddenly use a narrow rim and tire in MC when it's not allowed in Sweden.Quote:

Why I point that out? In 2009 Rally Bohemia was for some reason held in late October instead of usual July (certain AM was there with a Škoda by the way). For some strange reason almost every year in let's say last decade we have snowfalls in that time. They always last only few days but often are heavy. Than no snow for another month at least. So there was snow, a lot of snow. Some crews got stuck in recce, some roads were closed, a true calamity. And than came the point. There was a different opinion about what to do between guys with S2000 cars and certain guys with gr.N cars. It was presented on public that those with S2000 cars are sissies because they are afraid of snow but the real reason was that while gr.N guys could use narrow 16" tyres (although without studs but at least it was easy to obtain them) the S2000 would have to use wide 18" tyres also without studs (and it is likely there were even no MC style tyres in CZ so quickly available). In the end the rally was shortened to some 45 km held only on two wet stages and certain JH won his first asphalt event there I think :)
And Loeb lost time behind a punctured Hirvonen's dust cloud. The fact is Ogier in all rallies of the season (except Mexico, where he crashed doing the impossible) started behind Loeb in the road and thus had the better tactic at all times versus his countryman (or the option of that if for example Loeb didn't have that penalty in Argentina). Even at days where he could just position himself after Petter, Latvala and Hirvonen he would drop further time to get behind Loeb too because he was obsessed with him. The top of the iceberg was the stunt of Acropolis with Quesnel and Smeets where they weren't satisfied of already having the better option of starting behind Loeb, they shut down the tracking of Ogier's at the night stage (no splits no gps no nothing, even the organisers couldn't see Ogier in the stage for the safety reasons) and then texting him the target time of Loeb's despite being a phantom just to eliminate any alternative plan of Loeb slotting behind Petter at least. That just is not sportsmanship. If there wasn't a constructors championship going he would be thrown out of Citroen already with his other 2 pals and not just relegated to number 2 to finish the season.Quote:

I thought it was an interesting season start, although I have since not so much unaware of.
The shots that I have seen were very good and a few fault of the drivers.
It was interesting to see how the drivers are coped with the different street ratios. Yes it was a lot of snow.
