we have to mention that Franceschi was clearly faster from Fourmaux. At Sunday started with 17,9 sec behind and won.
Didnt expecting that to be honest.

Yep, quite impressive job from Franceschi, although it seems any current R5 (apart the Iriz, probably) can beat the Fiesta…

Yoann Bonato and his Citroen C3 R5 win Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine 2020.
Fantastic results for Alpine A110 R-GT drivers - Emmanuel Guigou finished the rally in the 3rd position and Laurent Pellier was 6th!

Back from Rallye du Mont Blanc, great event, fantastic place to be! First time I visited this event and the region, already keen on going back some day.
Great surprise to see the Alpine being so fast! The car lacks a bit of sound, but they're real rockets, it's crazy to see how fast they are, how late they can brake and what speed they can carry in the corners. Also a huge advantage compared to a Porsche GT3, they can really dive in all the cuts that R5 cars are taking.
First time to see the new 208 Rally4 and the Clio Rally5. The 208 Rally4 are proper rally cars, everything looks just right on it. The new Clio is clearly a cheaper car, the engine is far less powerful (I think also less powerful than a Fiesta R2T for example). The chassis seems to work well, only downside seem to be the brakes, we've seen many drivers overheating brakes, also a lot of occasions where the rear wheels blocked during braking. Of course you need to keep in mind this rally is one of the most demanding for the brakes.

Best Rally5 car from Renault came home in 34th place in total, best Rally4 came home @ 21st place. Both very good results!
The Rally5 Clio har 180 hp, and the R2T had 195, and the rally4 has 210 as far as I know. Rally 4 har more options to adjust in the undertray, Rally5 uses almost standard springs/dampers.
Imressive debut by the Clio in my opinion.
How much is the CupCar price in France for the Rally5?
The price for the Clio Rally5 is 42 000 euros excl VAT, for a completely finished car.

By the way, really nice entrylist on Rallye de Castine terre d'Occitanie next french gravel championship round running this coming week-end ;)
http://www.ewrc-results.com/entries/...ccitanie-2020/
Next week will be Rallye Coeur de France, next round of french tarmac championship, we should expect entrylist tomorrow friday :)
And now entrylist Rally Coeur de France :D
http://www.ewrc-results.com/entries/...e-france-2020/
Belgian Grégoire Munster(Hyundaï) is leading the Rallye de Castine terre d'Occitanie after day one !!!!
In fact both Thibaut Durbec(VW) and even more Jean-Baptiste Franceschi(Citroën) had a puncture on SS3 of the first leg, explaining their lateness(Durbec is +17" and Franceschi is +29" off) :mark:
Surprisingly Nasser Al Attiyah(VW)is quite off the pace(5th but almost 2 minutes off Munster)
Leading the 2WD in his 208 Rally 4, Mathieu Franceschi(Jean-Baptiste younger brother)is 10th overall
Tomorrow sunday still 6 stages left to go...
To put things in perspective, it's Munster's 5th gravel rally with a 4WD (R5) car. He had two punctures (lost roughly 35s on one stage with it), two overshoots at junctions, stalled the engine once, and he's leading by 17,8s advance. I expected him to be fast, but this is stunning, and very promising for the future... :)
Today Grégoire Munster managed to extend his lead and won by 47s over Jean-Baptiste Franceschi. It is the first time since 2013 a foreign driver won a French gravel round. Very strong, considering his limited experience and knowing the speed of Franceschi, who was faster than Fourmaux in the previous round. Durbec and Al-Attiyah (both Polo R5) finished 3rd and 4th.
Next French gravel round had to be Rallye Terre des Cardabelles, but it's cancelled due to the coronavirus. Then there's the Terre du Vaucluse in November, that round is not cancelled yet...
Rallye Coeur de France is running at the moment. Seems like it will be a very nice battle for the win. The Alpine GTs are less competitive than they were in Rallye du Mont Blanc. The stages in Coeur de France have a lot more slow junctions (somewhat similar to Rallye le Touquet), so GT cars lose more due to the lack of traction compared to 4WD cars.

Rallye Coeur de France is over. Yoann Bonato wins. This time two Alpines in top 10:

Next week Rallye d'Antibes(tarmac championship) cancelled due to the severe storms/weather(lots of wind, lots of destructive rain, real chaos in southern France like in northern Italy) ;(
Big effort from M-Sport in France this season !!!! :D
Quentin Gilbert will drive the Ford Fiesta Rally2 in french tarmac championship
Stéphane Consani will do the same on gravel(championship)
David Salanon will drive the same Fiesta on the Coupe de France des rallyes events
Also Salanon bought the ex Citroën Italy C3 Rally2(Andrea Crugnola CIR champion car)and will run the tarmac championship with it :)
Stéphane Lefèbvre will drive the brand new Opel Corsa Rally 4("sister" of the Peugeot 208)at Rallye du Touquet, first round of the tarmac championship, next month ;)
More than 23 Rally2 cars would be awaited to this event(record breaker)
Guys, would you like to take a trip in time? If you say yes, Renault has a special surprise for you - Philippe Bugalski Challenge! :)

Do you think it is a good idea to resurrect this rally legend?

Impressive numbers!
At the Pôle Mécanique Alès Cévennes this week, Gilles Panizzi got back to driving with the French preparer CPI Enjolras Racing in order to provide them with invaluable help with the settings of their i20R5.

Unfortuneately bad start from the 2021 french gravel championship, as the Terre des Causses is cancelled :(
Also Adrien Fourmaux could be present at Rallye du Touquet, to drive for the first time the brand new Ford Fiesta Rally3
Gryazin will start in Rallye du Touquet, 1st round of French championship with his Polo R5
Rallye du Touquet postponed to 9th/10th april, but entrylist will be published monday next week ;)
Entry list for Rallye du Touquet is out, for the postponed version.
36 R5 cars with 5 more on the waiting list. Gryazin (Polo), Bonato, Ciamin, Franceschi (C3), Gilbert (Fiesta) are the main contenders.
Nice to see Delecour (Alpine) and mainly Panizzi (i20 R5) on the starting list!
Also worth noting, 47 Clio Rally5 entered! This is the last round of the 2020 French trophy and at the same time the first round of the 2021 trophy.
I will be there (as a codriver) in a Clio as well to prepare the Belgian Trophy. Let's hope everything can run mid April!
Jeez, is there something wrong with my eyes or are there over 260 crews on the entry list? :O

Good news is that it seems Rallye du Touquet would really occure at the end of the month as (re)scheduled :)
But some drivers already disappeared from the entrylist(Fourmaux, Gryazin,...) :mark:
200 names still remain though... ;)
