It doesn't look like that but Abarth made almost same number of Puntos as Škoda made Fabias I think. Peugeot sold the biggest number of S2000 cars and has stayed the longest time on the market. But it's not only about sales but also about services and spare parts and that is where the "service life" matters the most.

That IS his problem. I doubt that R5 project can be profitable if lasts only for let's say two years. You need to keep the cars running to keep business with spare parts, services etc.

Most of us remember this site. S2000 Database: every s2000 rally car in the world
it was an extremely useful site to keep track of the cars.

it would be spledid and a help for many if someone could build on this on, or make a new one for R5.

The problem is that after some time it becomes very hard to keep up with it. There are so many cars after some time, who participate in big and small events. Cars are bought, cars are rented. Owners change license plates, teams have more cars and often switch plates etc, teams start to cover the chassis numbers with tape to prevent people from knowing exact history (actually happened) and so on...
