Rally Estonia 1-2 drivers out of form so far here
Hero to zero ...
Apparently he rolled the Toy
JML with very good time on previous one, taking back the lead. Also Kauppinen very good.
Problem for Joona as well?
He lost over 2 minutes, flat tyre maybe?
Somebody know the reason of the time-loss for Emil Lindholm on previous stage?
Seems that at the end of SS7 it is raining again, Lindholm struggled, so JML will get a second shower and will be pissed off like in the old good days.
JML loosing quite a bit of time in there, also Kauppinen lost a lot in the beginning of the stage
I don't speak Finnish but as much I understood, maybe JML had puncture additionally for rain. Maybe some Finns can confirm that.
Why didn´t Tanak fix his bonnet locking? Now he can be repeating a historical Timo Mäkinen BMC drive ...
It's kinda sad latvala starts so far back. Hard to compare times like that.
Ott loosing quite a lot on splits
Provisional points after SS7:
* 1. Evans 169
* 2. Tänak 166
* 3. Rovanperä 163
* 4. Ogier 147
* 5. Neuville 129
Bonnet was smallest issue, according to Tanak at finish.
Tanak with some mechanical issue
Tänak's engine is bottom endy. Should retire and save engine for Sunday.
Overheating I guess
Info on Oliver Solberg crash from DF...
His car bottomed out and sent him wide into a bank, flipping his car over on its nose and forcing him to retire.
Fourmaux is doing very well, same time as Kalle
Speed wise, Fourmaux adapted very well to the Hyundai. He needs consistency now
This stage (Myhinpää) has no corners, said Kalle at finish.
I remember 2015, I brought an old friend of mine to Finland. He also was a rallyguy and we have had a lot of fun during the years since my drivers license age. That is early 70´s.
On Wednesday before rally we did recce on Myhinpää, which should be driven opposite way than this year. Driving out on the stage in cruising mode, his eyes was kind of standing out. He couldn´t believe this was a stage! The road was (is) so wide, maybe like 9-11 meters in some places. It´s like national tarmac ordinary traffic roads in Sweden. But I told him, "yes, this IS the stage".
So in a way one should understand Kalle, when he says there´s no corners.
We had a great rally as spectators, and he was very impressed. We also had access to Ford team, and met many drivers personally that time.
My friend died this winter in cancer, in age of 75.
Korhonen passed Virves in overall classification after this stage, let's see what Linnemae can do
As I understand it’s quite sure it will rain tomorrow?
WRC2/SS8 - quite tight overall:
* 1. Korhonen
* 2. Virves +0.5
* 3. Linnamäe +0.8
Tanak started stage 9, second run trough Ruuhimaki
A lot of standing water in the ruts
