Please god no, Monza is garbage
Return to Chile would be great especially with no GB the two had similar style roads.
I don't despise Monza but in a short calendar I don't see any justification for a second Italian round with one being predominantly race circuit based. The roads outside the circuit seemed decent and the circuit provided good spectator stages. But the balance would need to be in favour of the country roads and I can't see how you could justify the cost of hiring the circuit in that situation? Unless circuit hire costs are low because of it being state owned AFAIK.
I do not really like Monza either, but if the alternative is Saudi Arabia, then I will accept Monza any given day. Maybe the December is also an issue for the organizers as there aren't really many that can do that and the WRC has already experience of Monza in December (or late November).
If Saudi Arabia or Monza, of course Italy would be better. The WRC season is already from January to November and the last event should be in November. There is no break between the seasons already now.
I really enjoyed Monza, a decent event plus plenty mountain roads to expand to use.

México confirming the rally will run between the 16th-19th of March.
WRC Promoter asked the Italian ASN if they could jump in in the 2023 WRC Calendar in case any other event must be dropped off or it might be unsafe to put it in the calendar.

I can understand it as a backstop, helps the organiser a little. Then the main issue becomes it's nearly impossible to watch. It's always dark there with too many barriers and fences, overhanging trees with not enough (elevated) cameras. Especially if they think this is the primary route going forward, they've got to absolutely saturate the place with lights and cameras, else... what's the point?
If they really want to add a second WRC rally in Italy then why not Rally Roma which is a fixture in the ERC calendar. Here is recap from the 2020 edition with Sordo+Loubet on Hyundai WRC plus, Oliver Solberg on the Polo R5 (3rd overall) , Fourmaux on the Fiesta R5 (big crash here!) and Breen on the Hyundai R5 (4th overall) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFqHcnAymeA

I guess it's official now.
Glad to see Saudi Arabia didn't make the cut, and that we remain with 13 rounds, it's already expensive enough as it is.
I'm glad there's no Monza
What sort of road miles total do you think the 3 country event in October will have? Appreciate the relative geographic closeness but an interesting choice.
Rally Italia Sardegna confirmed this year for 1-4 June 2023. From my local contacts I heard that WRC will stay in Sardegna until at least the end of 2025. This is not only due to Sardegna being a powerhouse on world events but also because it partially saved the WRC's promotor ass by keeping the event ongoing during the covid years
2023. is last year for Croatia. I mean it is a last year of contract with promotor. When they signed in 2021, the contract was 1+1+1 year.
It's my home rally and of course I would like to see it in calendar for many more years, but also I am aware that there are many big rallies eager to come back to WRC.
This kind of roads ?

Was a very nice and spectacular event. Lots of action on the dirty autumn roads.
I thought Croatia signed for another few years just recently?
Replying to post a few above.
Very nice, sounds good, looking forward to this ADAC 3-Städte Rallye. In matter of fact they once had the same idea in Belgium to group the 3 big national rallies (Ypres, Condroz and Spa) into one national WRC Rally Belgium but the plan never ever materialised. Albeit the WRC Ypres 2021 Rally had at least both Ypres and Spa rally parts.
According to president of ACCR Jan Šťovíček, the start ceremony will be held at Hradčanské náměstí, where is entrance to the Prague Castle. It is the same place where the beginning of Red Bull F1 Castle to Castle video were filmed.
The SSS will be probably around the Strahov stadium, where Prague Rallysprint Show took place yesterday.
It's nice for spectators, but idk if it's WRC worthy, I hope they will find a way to extend the stage. Imo it would be nice to start at the castle and finish the stage at the stadium. It's about 2km on lovely roads, starting with narrow cobblestone street, going into more technical section with crossroads, then hillclimb onto stadium area, where they can surely find 1 or 2 more kms. Also as video shown, there is a lot of space for spectators.
of course you are not sure.....you are in Orga of the (till last week) biggest Rally in your Country (since decades) and everybody wants to step up and try to get into WRC....and when you watch the ERC especially this year, it was a shadow of it´s glory days, and than somebody new is coming out of nowhere and gets WRC...of course you have to be "not sure"
but look at Rally Croatia for example, they came also out of nowhere and they delivered a very very well organised event. so my fingres are crossed for a nice new challenge in 3 different countries!

My thoughts on the calendar.
I must say I was never fan of stepping of Barum to WRC because I know lot of from behind of the scene. I know how much money it costs, I know how much more bureaucracy is needed, I know what FIA is doing etc.
But this "new" rally is something completely different. I dont like the system how it is built (with new organiser made from three different autoclubs). I dont believe cooperation between them will work (and not only based on experience with 3-Stadte this year). I dont like the style, how the rally was politicaly pushed to the calendar despite most of the people doesnt want it. Making big rally on WRC level from scratch is not easy... Everything will cost huge amount of money (which will be big issue for all other motorsport events in Czech and also from competitors) and I am not sure the result will be good...
...some infos about the organization of the rally at 28:30

Friday in Czech Republic, Saturday in Austria, Sunday in Germany
Now that Spain isn't on the calender what is the best/accessible/economical European round to attend.
