I think they've been doing it since 2007. It's also a mass production car, from a brand that needs desperately to be revived and as an outstanding rally heritage.
I hope Toyota will upgrade its livery at least with the new car. So far this design looks immortal :-D
Also, do you believe Ogier will stick around to have his name on that car's side window? :D
And who says this car will come in 2021 and not earlier? :)
I agree it will probably come during this year.
Huh, is that the reason we dont see so many homologated RHD rally cars these days? I assumed your 25,000 production run meant you could homologate either LHD or RHD and only MEM (Proton Iriz) and Prodrive (Mini Countryman) had bothered to do so in recent years...
Focus RS (latest, discontinued) sold 34k+ around the world.
Not much of and issue, when the price is right...
And i think doors are the least bit of worry, when you are buying an uncomfortable pocketrocket
Evans writes in his DF article, that the necessary and produced amount will be 2500 pc.
It's 2.500 of mandatory units, not 25.000.
Yep, the normal Yaris is only a 5-door model but, like already mentioned, they just need to make 2.500 3dr Yaris in order to match Gr.A basic body dimensions rules (one of the few limitations of the WRC Kit variant).
Btw, Toyota could make those 3dr units as low tech 2wd versions (just like Peugeot did with the extended bumpers 206s), but we can only thank them for bringing back to the streets a hot 4wd hatchback!
amazing design!^^^
Amazing how black and white doesn't work for me with red, and yet looks absolutely fabulous with yellow!
