That its for Dirt 1, this is the page for Dirt 3 with no mention of Colin McRae...

That was hard...
That link says Colin McRae: DiRT
Available 15th June 2007
OK I'll admit that's a fail. **** game still :D
I cant believe you got to play it before us :(
;)
My pre-order has been dispatched. :D Hopefully have it waiting when I get in from work tomorrow.
The long wait has started...
:D
Game just arrived...time to play now :s mokin:
Some quick thoughts from me. I had a couple of hours with the game yesterday.
* Sound: Great work sound technicians! Iīm loving the sound of the cars hitting the rev limiter over jumps or at the start of stages.
* Handling: Not bad, but I find it too grippy, at least on the dry. You almost donīt have to use the brakes, and there is basically no point of doing scandinavian flicks, as it just makes you slower. I drove a Finland stage in the wet with the Peugeot 207 yesterday, that started to feel good. I have tried different setups to try and make the car go sideways (stiff diff, rear brake bias etc.), but itīs not working out completely. On the other hand, I really like the handling in the Gymkhana mode. Having a lot of fun throwing the car around the compound.
* Stages: Still too short for my liking, even the longer ones. Most of these are finished within 2:30-2:50 minutes, which I find too short. On the other hand, great stage design, but still a little bit too wide roads in most places.
Thatīs all for now.
First impression is that both graphics and sound are fantastic, as for the handling it's too early to judge but shouldn't be a problem. And yes I wish stages were much longer but we can still hope on the DLC's ;)
I am not happy with these DLCīs...why we dont get the full game just from the start? Just another way how to get more money from the customers... :/
The stages are too short and the cars have too much grip but apart from that I like it. Ive also had some pretty meaty crashes in the 6R4!
Hmm, not sure I'll be rushing out to buy it. Think I'll concentrate on LA Noire for a bit longer :)
I wouldnt say it is worth rushing for tbh even if it is good, though I do seem to be over driving and crashing alot lol
My xbox tag is AllyCummins if anyone wants to add me :D
Played it for an hour this evening. I like it, gymkhana is fun and I never thought I'd see the day when i could drive an Opel Manta in a computer game!
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
I've seen some youtube videos now and I don't think I'll bother. The stages are too wide and simply not long enough. I remember doing a 10 minute stage on WRC once and it was great fun. Dirt 2 and 3 are a little bit too... ADHD in my opinion.
The rally part of D3 Is the best ever seen from Codies.
Pure rally atmosphere, realistic stages, decent cars list, awesome sounds for both cars + enviroment
and brilliant time of day and weather features.I like the handling more than Dhttp://www.motorsportforums.com/imag...c/progress.gifiRT2.
May be kind of grippy, but I prefer It from the drifting/oversteering style of the previous game.
Amazing how each car reacts differently, to every Inch of the road.
Regarding the stages length, I agree they should be longer.
But even the short ones, are very Intense and challenging, so you don't get bored racing them.
No comments about the Gymkhana, Landrush e.t.c. Still alien stuff to me. :D
I wish this game Is just the warm-up for a CM future full rally game!
First liveries for D3 already available, thanks to cmr2game

Well I ended up getting this yesterday. First impressions are that it's quite a lot better than DiRT2.
Positives - Noise, the cars sound spot on.
Car choice, even at the early stage there's some great cars
Stage width, not a complete positive but at least narrower than we've seen recently
Gymkhana, I quite enjoy it...although don't like the way you're kinda forced to do it.
Negatives - That twatty American that comments on everything in the menus etc. If Codies insist on including him then they could at least give us the courtesy of allowing the option to turn it off.
Rally, it's not called rally racing you ****wit. It's rallying.
Raid etc. Doing an event last night and HAD to do a raid event to get the points needed. It's a **** addition that I don't like doing and I was forced into it.
Grip, jaysus christ there's far too much grip on the front wheels and likewise rear wheels for some of the older cars like the Manta.
Loading times, the menus are so complicated with the cars in the background that it seems to take forever to load the tiny little stages. A more simplified menu could shirley reduce this time.
Stage length. We all know this one, the design is good but the stages are getting shorter and shorter in these games. And what's with the mountains and tarmac in the Safari?
On the whole I enjoy it but the irritations really get to me (especially the stupid comments "That gold looks good on you").
I also hate that american voice, is there a chance to change it ? Also do we have another codriver voice, and how I change it ? I've tried all options but couldn't find it :(
Co-driver is cleverly in the 'driving style' part of the options (in which you can also change the horn but nothing to do with the handling or STYLE of the car). You either have the bloke or the woman and there is a choice between basic (medium left, fast right etc.) or advanced (3 right tightens into hairpin left) notes.Quote:

That's just because you're too good Iain :p :Quote:

My favourite rally car from when I started watching rallies in the 1980's with Brookes and Jimmy McRae going head to head in their Manta's... great days. And then I owned a Manta myself and loved it...
I'll definately be getting DiRT3 now... cant wait :D
I donīt think it is as fun to drive as it should be. The RWD cars I have been driving so far have been to sticky at the rear, hence boring..
Have you played with the dif set up, ive had the rwd cars hanging their arses out everywhere :D
By putting it as stiff as possible?
Incidently I've got a set of those wheels on the Impreza around the side of the house waiting for a refurb so they can eventually go on Caroline's Legacy :pQuote:

Yes. It's in the Welsh Rally livery, so has Heat For Hire in Welsh on it.
After saying this, I went to a rally yesterday where cars were racing eachother. :crazy:Quote:

Some new evidence of Monte Carlo In DiRT3 :D

Nice, id better get some funds in my account!
There's no point for some of us, with PS Store down I can't even use the Sierra, R4 etc. because can't access the bonus code. I really do wonder what the point of that is, why include something in a game but fence it off from anyone without internet access?Quote:

So we'll get to do a 1:40 stretch of Turini? Woo. I like this game and I like that the short attention span thing means that the Raid and Buggy stuff is short, but the rallying bit really does need at least a few properly long stages...or at least do pacenotes for ther Trailblazer stages.

Ah yes the famous Col de Turini fog, never well known for its snow is it
Lets hope that bit is wrong the stage is a decent length and not a half arsed effort.
