I do get asked for Northern Soul occasionally and would normally play stuff like Everybody's Goin To the Love in by Bob Brady, California Soul by Marlena Shaw or Soul-A-Go-Go by The Watts 103rd Street Band. Perhaps a little Green Onions, Tainted Love or The Snake too if it goes down well.

Wossi on Radio 2....its just an embarassment. Wossi motormouths and occassionally plays a record and his mate just sits there and forcedly chuckles at Wossi's unfunny spiel.
"International Pop Overthrow" by Material Issue. I don't know how I missed these guys back in the early '90s when they were around, but they're awesome! Definitely worth checking out if you've never heard 'em. Too bad that the band's founder/singer/songwriter, Jim Ellison, commited suicide in 1996. :(
