I didn't add the patches as it said in the tutorial to install a clean copy of RBR, then add RSRBR2010. No mention of patches.

It doesn't matter where you download the files of RSRBR as long as you install them to the root directory of RBR. Before that make sure you have installed official patch v1.02.
Thanks Neverknow - got it working in the end.
Does anyone know if there is any way to change the text and pictures in the menus?
As far as I know if you want to change pictures in the original RBR, picture files are in splash.dat in \Textures in the root directory of RBR.
Though I know little about changing text in the menus. I know that if you want to change car names you'd have to hex edit RichardBurnsRally_SSE.exe but I have never done it myself. Here'sa little discussion about it.
Thanks Neverknow - I'll give it a go.
I got it working by the way - menu pics match the cars inside now.
Just out of interest, what is everyone's times on the Rally School stage? Until yesterday I couldn't beat 1:14, then I played today and suddenly I got a 1:09.11! This is with a Focus 2006. I have no idea what happened but if my memory serves me right, under 1:10 is very fast. Very surprising as all my other times seem annoyingly slow...
I'd really like to watch that replay! ;)Quote:

Looks as if you have your controller issues in check. 1:09 is quite fast :up:Quote:

Yeap! Record It via fraps, and upload It (the mpeg file) on youtube! ;)Quote:

Here we go LCD - as I could only save 30s of it, I used Windows Moviemaker to stitch together the 3 parts. Also, I have since beaten my PB and recorded that replay as the first replay didn't work.

edit: I know I cut a corner near the end but it didn't really affect my time as it made me jump in the air and I had to try and keep the car on line so might have even lost a bit of time.
Very nice ps29! Thought you might have used some excessive shortcuts,
but from what I've watched, It was a very clean run! Welldone! ;)
Thanks very much LCD. Now I just need to try and transfer that on to any other stage! ;)
update 6 for RSRBR10 here:

Remember to Install complete car pack, after update patch! ;)
I've actually given up trying to keep up RSRBR. This nonsense of having to redownload car packs every 2 minutes is annoying. It worked much better with the updates for 9.
Indeed.Quote:

Just wondering if someone could make a really simple skin for me after the news of Mikkelsen signing for Skoda in 2011. I'd like just a plain white Fabia S2000 with Mikkelsen in the window if that's possible - to use in the RBR IRC if there is one, or just for recce purposes. If anyone can be bothered then it would be much appreciated.
I've tracked down the template for the Fabia if you want to have a go:

Edit: If not, then pm me your email address, I'll send it to you.
With the closing down of Blackhole Motorsports website, skins are harder to find. Does anyone know where I can find Guy Wilks' skin for Rally Ireland 2007 for the Subaru S11?
I think they're trying to get BH back. But try rallyesim.fr
Just a quick question to everyone in RBR-land who has used the new generation WRC cars i.e. Fiesta and DS3. Have you found they are as fast as the old WRC cars, slower than the old WRC cars or faster? Just wondering if my pace has changed in the new generation cars.
p.s. welcome LCD to your new role as Moderator :)
Can't say faster, but definitely, not slower at all. ;)Quote:

Agreed. Saw what hapenned at the Swedish rally, a couple of weeks ago? 5 drivers within a minute!Quote:

The most amazing stage ever for RBR:
YouTube -
It's more than obvious, this stage Is based on a real one!
Just watcing the vid, was enough to make my heart pump fast!
Top work!
But itīs bloody hard! :p
Right ive just reinstalled RBR which im going to be playing using an xbox 360 controller as I dont have the space or money for a wheel.
The only problem is im being a tit (I know!) and cant set up the buttons so the acceleration is on the triggers and the steering is on the left joy stick, all I get is buttons and axis conflicting. Soo can anyone help? :D :D
edit: right ive got the steering on the sticks now, but the throttle and brakes are still on the buttons and the throttle is very unresponsive. On the other hand the brakes come on and off by themselves while driving along!
Ignore the above its sorted now. Just need to tweek the steering setup, get some proper numerical pace notes and get practising :D
A very cool video (sorry If It's a re-post)
