I have no idea, haven't tried it yet, probably will try it over the weekend or next week. I'm guessing it should be for all tracks.Quote:

Sweet! You on PC, hey Paddy?
Trying to find the links but it gets buried in the CM forums pretty quickly, but here is what I did (maybe this will help others here as well):Quote:

Select the Rapture3D tab, put both options (Spatialisation and Quality) to LOW and Buffer count to 7
Hit ok to save options. My sound is perfect now. Set the sound in the game to Rapture, not software.
2. Diable Autosave in the My F1 section - apparently when you get to the end of your first season it gets corrupted if it's on autosave, so just manually save.
3. Keep Vsync off.
4. Install the latest DX9 on your machine (or DX11 if thats what you use).
5. Install the OpenAL drivers off the disk as well (DX and OpenAL all found in the Redist folder of the disk).
6. For those with Nvidia cards (like myself), go to their website and download the latest beta driver (I think it's 260.53 or something like that, not the 258 one). This has made quite big gains in FPS on most cards.
For those with ATI, get the latest drivers.
7. I found keeping AA settings down helps.
8. I think the other big gain comes from editting the hardware_settings_config.xml file found in My Documents/My Games/F1 2010/hardwaresettings. The main thing is skidmarks, if you switch that off it's a big gain for some reason. Also I switched off MotionBlur (or Blur as it's called in the file) and it looks better IMHO.
9. Xfire and SLI are not liked by the game, switch them over to 1 GPU if you have two. Another thing for ATI uses is disabiling Catalyst A.I.
10. I can't for the life of me find the thread where someone posted what to do with the Nvidia control panel settings but this is what I remember(this may also work for ATI people, give it a try):
Set texture quality to "performance"
Make sure AA settings are on "application-selected"
Crazy enough all of this helped not only with the game running better but the loading times in the menus was MUCH quicker.
PC indeed :D
Is there any way to see results from an online race or do you just take screenshots after the race?
As an export, Brucce? There is none yet. This is why it's going to be tough for organized leagues.
I'm bblock68 on the PC. Feel free to add me! Finally got a couple of multiplayer wins last night at Melbourne. Got my lap times in the 1:26 range in the red car. Gotta work on setups to try and find more time. Albert Park is awesome. I have to go try and remember Malaysia next :)
Wow, 1:26s! Pole in our race was a 1:28 and I was doing low 1:30s, so you're just a little above us, but I'll be seeing you some time.
no problem :)Quote:

Yeah, once I got the sound and graphics sorted out properly this game has been worth it. Really enjoying the online side of things.
Had some great races last night.
@X-ecutioner, apparently that braking properly I had at Spa was something that does happen, the brakes don't lock so much in qualifying but in the race they are much more sensitive. Apparently...
Still can't get over the qualifying session at Melbourne. Here I was talking 4 posts ago about 1:26s being amazing and we drop into the low 1:24s! And pole swapping between the 3 of us so often and eventually 0.179s between all 3 was crazy. Pity the race wasn't better.
Well, the race was good for me since I won it. :p Man, that qualy session was amazing. I got pole by 0.05 seconds or something. I would have dipped into 1:23 if not for a stupid mistake at Turn 13. :mad:Quote:

Monaco and legend difficulty in a Lotus :(
3 seconds off the pace of Trulli. Everywhere else i've been almost a second faster.
Monaco is a real challenge without ABS and TC.
Ugh! The holding in the pit box is getting ridiculous now. Went from first to 23 at Catalunya sue to being held in the pits...codies really need to sort that out in the next version
I was trying the game while beeing in Germany and already then spotted some bugs on the game. Still its a decent game but those bugs are really ruining the game a bit and hopefully most of them will be fixed.
Also them should really add one extra extra hard level to the game. As many has said single player bug fixing is pretty pointless if you still keep to drive into pole and lap times from 5-7 seconds quicker per lap compared to cpu at the hardest level.
What comes to online some things also there should be fixed. Had a race on my friends name at online and on the first corner, got a hit from behind and went straight without any change of making to the track and got a penalty for short cutting.
The game is still very nice to play and I liked it a lot and has been on both at my tests.. At Germany and at my friend. If codies will really fix everything it surely will become way better than it is now.
Hey Mixa! Long time no chat
That was also a big problem with Sony F1 games on the PlayStation 2, for it was pretty easy to be out in front of everyone by lap 5 or 6 on the hardest level.Quote:

Looks like you have done way more work than the actual team ever did. ;)Quote:

Oh wait, they don't have any :p :
Had a funny online moment on Friday night - none of the guys here were online so I decided to just jump into any online race and see how I did. Found a race and joined, only to find it was Abu Dhabi which I hadn't even driven around yet! Thought ok I'll just cruise around at the back and learn the track. No chance, the bloody thing sticks me on pole!! So I get a slow start and decide the safest thing is to go straight at T1 just to get out of everyone's way, go onto the run off area and let everyone through, only to be T-boned by 2 other guys in the run off area! Baled out of that race quickly...
Now I'm doing Time Trials of all the tracks so I can learn them so I can at least not look like a complete turkey online. Funny thing, in other F1 games I've always hated Melbourne and Catalunya yet they are actually fun to drive on this one.
What do you guys think of Korea? I find its a frustrating circuit with no real flow and tricky corners everywhere.
just found these wicked screenshots showing the sun mod around Monaco for F1 2010 - there is an updated sun mod pack here: http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=29444
Haven't tried this yet but looking at this I've just got to!

I'm on a pad without ABS and TC. I qualified 11th at Malaysia.Quote:

BTW tried the lighting mod last night and it made quite a bit of difference. Found spotting the brake markers easier for example.
These screen shots are awesome and quite attractive. The only thing which I like most about Formula one are the unique tracks and latest unbeatable cars.
Those complaining about bugs/errors in F1 2010 should take a look at what we had to contend with in the mid-1980's:

:D
Revs was designed by Geoff Crammond who obviously went on to bigger and better things!!
I never did have Revs. Although I did have Grand Prix Construction Set. And of course later Grand Prix and Grand Prix 2.
The first Grand Prix game on the PC I spent ages racing and eventually became World Champion on the hardest difficulty and using 100% length races.
I have been playing F1 2010 for the XBox I got recently, but as usually I keep it on far too easy setting, though halfway through my first season I have discovered that manual gears are the way to go.... I may sometime get around to doing xbox live but at the moment that would involve finding a cable and plugging it in, and I just can't be bothered :p :
Yeah there is a big gain in running manual gears. I've also found that some very small adjustments to the brake balance system really makes a big difference.
I find that I have more than enough to do just getting round the track in one peice nevermind having to change gear too. I`ve just got past the point of turning off the braking assist on some tracks, Monaco`s a nightmare :)Quote:

About a year ago I got myself a wireless connector (the thingy that looks like a little 3" antenna) that plugs into one of the rear USB slots in the console. Works great, no cables to deal with (um... assuming that you have wi-fi connectivity :erm: )Quote:

On PC you press enter, don't know what it is for PS3 or Xbox, I'm guessing the X on PS3. The videos below will help you out I guess.Quote:

What I'm finding helps a lot with the wheel lockups is to set the brake pressure to low and adjust the brake balance to F 49 R 51. In the long race I did last night in Canada I still had a bit of brake lock so it might have been better to run 48 or even 47 at the front. But don't go too drastic in the changes cos it seems that the small changes make a difference.
I also fiddled around with the setup for our race at Montreal, which improved the car somewhat. But I'm gonna refrain from having long races now until they release the patch which will hopefully fix the stupid tyre puncture bug. I didn't even go on gravel, however the first puncture could have been because of all that jostling at the start, because the other guy also got a puncture and retired. He sent me a message afterwards.Quote:

I tried my best but couldn't match you. Gotta find a better setup for Montreal.
After I came back from my break, you were offline, and so I got into three races, all Monaco, against two really stubborn guys. Won all three banging in 1:13 laps, which was a surprise to me.
