We will see. It will be first time for Odlozilik with S2000. As I was talking to him last week, he never sit in this car, so he doesnt believe himself to make a good result. But we will see...Quote:

For those of you who don't know him, he's running the french gravel championship in that car and had his best result ever last week-end at Langres(3rd overall behind WRC/GrA cars)... ;)
Apparently BSA would run the complete IRC in 2008 with that driver and he has to prepare the car on tarmac...
Don't think this project is happening.Quote:

Read it Autosport around the time of the Jim Clark or before if I remember correctly..
So, minor changes. Roman wont start with this car on Rally Pelhrimov, but he will use it on Rally Prachatice and Barum Rally.Quote:

Yes, it's the same car that Roman Odložilík will drive in the Czech republic. Serviced by JM Engineering.

Andreas Waldherr who use to drive a VW Golf IV Kit car in Austrian Champ. tested the Polo S2000 from René Georges.
According to René Gergoes site, he was interested in compare the Kit car with the S2000.

I hope we fulfill our vision to develop Honda S2000. I would like to reach the best position possible in IRC series next year and the S2000 vehicle is one of the possible ways
It seems logic to me and it would be awesome if it's true!

Good stuff :) hopefully RED will have one built for WRGB or earlier.. :DQuote:

Strange that Honda would let Dani Sola drive a Peugeot though...
Maybe he needs to spy on some things... :DQuote:

I'll create a thread for this event when I get the complete entrylist(this should be tomorrow, normally) ;)
There should be at least anyway local driver Philippe Mermet in the AutomecaSport Fiat Grande Punto and Brice Tirabassi in the BSA team 207... :)
Five S2000s on next event of polish championship Rajd Nikon next week :D
Bouffier(207)
Solowow(Grande Punto)
Czopik(Grande Punto)
Guzek(Grande Punto)
Lubiak(Grande Punto)
I just hope Guzek won't repeat his mistake from last rally.
I'm not so sure about that, Guzek probably is one of those "I have money and probably speed" guys :)
Yes, Guzek's "talent" is enormous ;)
Last weekend there was another round of Spanish championship - RALLYE DE FERROL-HANKOOK. Surprisingly the rally was won by Sergio Vallejo and his Porsche! The leader of the championship, Miguel Fuster, had engine breakdown in his Punto S2000. Rene George's Polo driven by Alberto Hevia broke down too (of course).
Results:
1. Sergio Vallejo/Diego Vallejo (E) Porsche 911 GT3 1:43.26,9 (1. GT)
2. Victor Senra/David Vazquez (E) Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX +47,4
3. Josep Basols/Alex Haro (E) Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX +1.57,3
4. Mex Machado/Antonio da Silva (E) Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX +2.52,4
5. Yeray Lemes/Rogelio Penate (E) Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX +3.29,2
6. Joan Vinyes/Jordi Mercader (E) Citroen C2 S1600 +3.50,2 (1. A6)
7. Alvaro Muniz/Cesar Blanco (E) Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX +4.10,7
8. Carlos Marquez/Aintzane Goni (E) Fiat Punto S1600 +5.32,6 (2. A6)
9. Sergio Perez/Pablo Secades (E) Renault Clio S1600 +5.37,1 (3. A6)
10. Pedro Burgo/Marcos Burgo (E) Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX +6.47,2
Yes, it was a failure from the S2000s :(
why you ( JAREK Z ) have to write that the Polo broke down ( of course ?? ), Hevia is in Spain at least on the same speed as the Punto ( he win in a clear fight 2 times and was 2 times second) and for now the Fiat Punto retired more in spain because of technical problems then the Polo ! the reason he retired was a problem that VW never had before on the car and is being investigated.... what is it with Polish people and VW... how many times Czopik made a mistake with the car and go off road or loose time !! he never speak about that.. only complain about the car and the team, never said.. sorry was my fault.. i made a mistake...example: he went of the road in the Polski rally and loose 17 minutes, break the gearbox when he try to get back on the road, and then he is complaining that the mechanics took 2 minutes longer to change all transmissions !! come on guy's... .. he lost the rally.. not VW... or Rene georges Team.. you will not hear Loix or Hevia say that.. they are Proffessionals. and if you do not know the facts of the story then do not make comments please. also do you hear Mr Solowow say in the press that he is having a **** season with the Procar Fiat..NO... or Mr Lubiak..Procar Fiat...NO... all Profi's they keep their remarks inside their teams..
GTA,
Have you read Autonews too? I've read the interview with Rene Georges too, it's good to hear the other side of the story too. Like said before, it's up to Czopick to choose a team, but Rene Georges maybe lost contracts because of him and that is not nice at all.
What is good news is that Rene Georges has sold the first Polo to an Austrian guy, named Andreas Waldherr, maybe a Polo will drive in Portugal and maybe also in Finland.
Fact is that in Belgium, a litle team developed an asfalt package with a lot of potential, I hope next year we will see the Polo a lot too...
i am the team coordinator for Rene Georges Rallysport... :) so i know all... ;) and the deal with Waldherr is not 100% closed... but there are many options for 2008 so do not worry, the VW Polo S 2000 will be seen in many events next year.

To GTA and HaCo,
I'm sorry about the "of course" comment in my post about the Spanish rally. I agree that it may sound a little harsh. But on the other hand, the forum is for sharing opinions and news about rallying in Europe. I wrote that the Polo broke down, because it did break down. Let's not hide the facts.
As far as Czopik is concerned, I'm not his fan or anything, but in my opinion you shouldn't blame him for the technical problems of your car. If the car breaks down already on the shakedown, which is maybe 5-km long (as it happened in Elmot and Croatia rallies), that is not driver's fault, is it?
GTA, I have to add, that I wish you and your team a lot of success next year. I really hope that your car will finally prove reliable, because in my opinion, it is the best looking S2000 car ever built! If only you could re-paint it, because silver rally cars look terrible ;)
Good luck to you!

i know everybody is free to write what they want, but stay fair... if a car has a technical problem.. so be it... thats motorsport you never can predict what is going to happen,. and when somebody starts a new project it takes time.. with Czopik i can only say that we never had a driver that was speaking so bad to the press all the time..i have all the prints from the Polish websites with al comments they give on the websites like Autoclub and Rallyonline... pleople have no respect in what they write for the teams... even if sometimes he was right and he had a problem.. but problems are always to be solved within the team with the team management and not in Public.... ( sometimes the news was faster on the internet then we know it in the service park !! ) its not good for the Team, driver and manufacturer... thats all...for the rest we have a fantastic car that starts to be 100 % good and will score more interesting results soon with the right drivers. Greetings to beautifull Poland, a country i learned to appreciate a lot.
HaCo, could you tell more about that S2000 and Finland rumour?
i heard another rumour yesterday, please note it is a rumour! that the an Auris will debut in our penultimate event of the year in 3 weeks time!
i think it may be true as we have a very talented young driver who has already won his championship in A7 and they want to get him into a S2000 before the end of the season. With the Auris coming for senior driver Serge Damseaux this will open up a car for him.
we are talking to several drivers from Finland to drive the Polo S 2000 next yesr.
Between end 2007 and start 2008 Réunion Island(an african island belonging to France, considered as a french department) could have at least two S2000 cars(a Grande Punto and a 207)for local rally drivers... ;)
