Nice to see another youngster getting a chance.
As for the Plato/Thompson situation, as has been said before Thompson tested the TD Civic a while back and I wouldn't be suprised to see him there next year, but Jason Plato working alongside Steve Neal...I just don't see it do you? So In that case he's not really left with many options, unless of course Team RAC can find the funds for a third car.
The only way Team RAC will find funds is if the driver pays it
And I presume JP wouldn't be looking to do that.Quote:

What about the Seat Holland, Tom Coronel rumour, has that gone cold? Half wondered if there may be somes sort of opportunity for Plato with them?
Youv'e got more chance of seeing a Volvo on the grid this year than you will see SEAT Holland there!
There are really only two realistic chances for Plato to be in the 2009 BTCC. And they are getting slimmer every day!
It was in the Autosport International version of Autosport that Coronel wanted to enter and that SEAT Holland were really keen...
Here's the story;

And, your point is?
I agree it makes a good story.
I wasn't trying to make a point, i just thought people might want to see the story. Don't shoot the messenger!
Would be fantastic but as so many of these pre-season stories are, I expect it is totally inaccurate.
Did anyone notice the Team48 Alfa Romeo at the Autosport Show?
IT WASN'T TEAM 48!!!!
Although poor Darrelle Wilson really should have resprayed it.
It's Darrelle Wilson/PT Motorsport who are working on entering him in it this season.
good luck to then seeing as it doesn't have an engine! :D
Oh yeah, another point, they were using the show car which has never and probabily never will have an engine in it. I'm not saying he's definitely going to be out, but don't tar him with the same brush as Team 48
Are you sure about your last post?! If you do research you may just find that your statement isnt correct. It may not have an engine in the future but......Quote:

what broken record? I was simply asking if anyone had seen the Alfa at the Autosport International. If you don't want to be associated with Team48 then maybe you should respray your car before you take it to shows.
Do you think we will see BTC Racing or AFM? I think we will still see over 20 cars and possibly more in the mid season.
AFM will be testing again very soon and may I say happy birthday to Rick Kerry for today!
Maybe if Rick Kerry could lead the BTCC field to all drive Diesels at Croft that would solve the noise issues.....!Quote:

what happened to Phiroze Bilmoria?
So would that possibly mean that GR Asia will run the cars for them then?

I chose the colour back then and the company that loaned the car for the
show where more than happy for it to stay that way. Also it doesn't have an engine because it doesn't need one , it is purely a show car not a race car.The purpose of being at the show was a)to collect some much needed money for the loan of the car,and b) to drum up some interest for this years BTCC .(which very worthwhile)
The reference to DW changing the colour of the car is way of the mark as well, the only info Dan has regarding PT Motorsport is what i tell him
If you where at the show you could have asked either me or Darelle what his plans are and we would have been more than happy to tell you the real story
Not always :D ...Quote:

James Thompson has been testing for Tempus Sport and they're apparently in serious talks trying to bring him in to partner Harry Vaulkhard. It would certainly be a coup for Tempus to have a driver of Thompson's calibre racing for them.

They seem like a very proffessional team. If they can get everything right then come the second half of the season they could be genuine contenders for race wins.
And here he says that Dynamics has the car to win the title..
"Based on what I've seen during this test and the motivation I've seen inside the team to win the championship I couldn't think of any better place to be than Dynamics. http://www.crash.net/btcc/News/11502...es_thommo.html
He doesn't know where he wants to go!
Thompson is trying to keep his options open. I can fully believe what he said about both Team Dynamics and Tempus Sport, he would be winning races with either team.
I'm still waiting for official confirmation on an all female team for 2009:
Female driver, female crew members.
I'm not joking either!

Volvo looking to tie up sponsors for a 3 year project and are down to a shortlist of 2 squads to run the cars.
Im guessing Team Dynamics and Northern South, shame they expect that it might not be in time this year, but also, the cars arent S2000 spec, yet they'd be a manufacturer entry, how would that work?
The are locally homologated in Sweden, The BTCC and STCC has agreement that their homologation process is applicable in both championships
I really hope Volvo do enter this season, I guess we will see.
Except that it's more likely to be in British GT's now rather than BTCC. Assuming we're talking about the same one!Quote:
