Yes.. and you were spot on about the V8 for Spinelli's car. It is also more or less confirmed that it's an Aston Martin engine (4.7 l). Output is low though, probably because of the air restrictor.

I would add:
Terranova (BMW X3cc)
Carlos Sousa (Great Wall by SMG)
Ten Brinkke (Mitsubishi Racing Lancer, renamed HRX and with Ford Mustang V8 Engine)

If it was just for driver's skill, I'd add them to the list, but their machinery don't seem to be on par with the others on the list. I'd be more than happy to be positevely surprised by the HRX Lancers, though :)

And, in terms of winning, my money's on De Villiers, altough the victors from the last three years (Peterhansel, Al-Attiyah, Sainz) won't sell their skins for cheap. Either way, one of these four should be the first to win two SA Dakars. In my humble opinion.

Exactly. The United States doesn't generally have much to offer the world of motorsport outside of NASCAR, so when we do I always hope we show some maturity, tact, or humility. Sadly we don't very often.
