Especially considering how much more you'll see at the WTCC. Sadly though the cost of insurance and the hire of Forest Comission tracks (some extortionate price charged by the mile and car I believe) means that it probably costs quite a lot more to put on a rally than a roundy roundy :mark:Quote:

That's one reason, not helped by the MSA not trying to get a better deal with FC. It's not that long ago it was £5 per car, though I remember paying £10 in Hafren and seeing the cars twice, and being able to pick which car park I wanted, as opposed to last year being told were to park!Quote:

Surely they must mean either Newcastle or Carlisle using Kielder, the lake district and lots of others around there. Or perhaps a tie-in with rally yorkshire?
Trying not to get my hopes up too much... alas the roads in these areas would struggle with the amount of rally traffic I fear.
Good news then hopefully. Not that i have anything against Wales but it has been based in the same small spot for too long now and needs a big change. It would be good if the organisers could find a suitable host town/city which would allow stages in North Wales to be used on one day and then on the other days head up north for stages in Grizedale and Kielder etc.

The point is IF there was the will there from the organisers you could run an amazing event in Wales, we have stretched to Mid Wales last year, and again this year, but with the relaxation of the rules the prospect of mixing the asphalt roads of Epynt, linking with 1/2way, Crychan, Radnor, Sweet Lamb, Hafren, Tarenig (Pikes Peak) Dyfi, Dyfnant, and Clocaenog would be amazing. Throw in a night leg, not some token twilight stuff, a few remote services at Builth and Dolgellau, and wow, turn the clock back 25 years ago before the start of 9-5 rallying that was being pushed for back in the last days of Group B.
