From the video it really looks like brake failure and an attempt to save it by handbrake. It wouldn't be the first crash of such kind.
For example this was a confirmed case of sudden loss of brake pressure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FR4uEZA8M-k
My mind is relatively precise, I trust it
Just saw confirmation from Kubica posted here it is 170km/h. I was way too optimistic, perhaps because the bad video quality.
The flying (I presume You mean finish) is just after the camera man, You'll see the typical red/white straps put at every stage finish in this Monte.
Not relative to the matter.
Seems just after the flying finish, judging from the engine sound.
From the crash sound it doesn't look very flat, but Kubica should know better, I am not doing Monte recce for sure.
I see lot of smoke from the tyres, this means working brakes
Don't encourage this, might end bad;)
nice spot the asphalt one.Watch Meeke how enters.

Kubica wasn't alone in having brake problems on the stage:
Jari-Matti Latvala appeared stressed as he steered his Volkswagen Polo R into the finish (of SS14). “The brakes are horrible. I had no bite on them and it was very, very scary to drive. We only have one stage left, so I hope it will be OK,” said the Finn.
Why are Breen & Hirschi with VW in "event highlight day3" on wrc+. Is it because they finished?:D:D:D

No chance you can make that corner going flat anyway since it's a 1 or 2 right. The front left is locked up from the cars already so obviously the brakes are working. Watching Tanak who is the only inboard before Robert he is braking 100m before the finish and just hitting 180kph.
No, 'cause riding VWs.
Another view of Robert's off

Armchair experts at their best here.
precise with 20km/h difference?at these speeds may you need some 20-30meters more.
it is.Use your precise brain, but dont mistake again like Kubicas speed.
with seems how can be sure about the distance remaining or no brake failure ?
from crash sound you know how is the corner? lol
of course he knows better, but you call him lier.
if you pull the handbrake the wheels will lock, even if you haven t any brake power.Different system. So that you saw smoke doesn t mean that he had brakes or how much they were working
only for you, because you are sure about subjects you dont have a clue.
I'm glad you realised that.
stop the discussion about that nobody... does it matter ??
only if you have incar video with the camera at the pedal you can see what really happened...
stefanvv, ever driven a rally car?
Lacking of understanding of irony is not very good sign, but I forgive You. You're Kubica fan, that is fine by me. I just can't agree with his dangerous driving sometimes, that is all and that is it, I know, I know.... I'm just stupid. But take a serious note only if You wish, no one is pushing You.
I understand irony very well, I just don't want to play along.
Many drivers crashed at Monte therefore they also created some dangerous situations, but you ignore that. You only concentrate on Kubica, why is that? If there is 20 offs in a rally then it's dangerous, but you are only concerned with one guy, that's double standards.
Oh, you're going to cry or what?

Colin McRae survived many more and much biger crushes but unfortunately didn't survive an air one.
Destiny!

I just don't get you guys. Some of you complain that the sport is becoming so boring with VW and Ogier winning everything, but any new driver that tries to enter into the fight gets so much negativity like if you are afraid that things may change...
