100% this. But NRX will probably have some success as a crazy event traveling around us and the world, just like Nitro Circus did. It will probably look more like "some guys having fun" than an actual racing series tho.

Tanner Foust just signed with McLaren to race the extreme-e series! Thats really cool!
Review of the aerodynamics of the ESmotorsport Škoda Fabia WRX Evo that Andreas Bakkerud and Janis Baumanis will drive this weekend in the Euro RX1 category at Höljes RX

The Holjes SF's knocking out JK and Gronhölm were a real shame.
JK breaking a driveshaft may have been due to him taking huge jumps but Gronholm's penalty on the joker lap looked harsh.
Abbring did really well all weekend but taking the joker on the first lap of the final cost him, being then held up by slower traffic.
I honestly just watched the euroRX for Holjes. WorldRX just lost me
#MakeEuroRxGreatAgain haha
More bad luck for JK at Loheac. Looks like the Hansens' have the title sewn up already. Nice to see Gronholm back closer to the pace and Abbring still going well.
Finally Gronholm gets some luck and a win but yet more misfortune for JK. The Hansen brothers benefit again.
Nitro RX starts this weekend with all the big stars! I cant wait!
Foust, Speed, Travis, Hansen, Doran, Larson, Bakkerud, all the Olsbergs... and Andrew Coley!
Day 1 in NitroRX was a blast. The "one lap qualy" is great.
Then the "1x1 battles" were awesome! They posted everything on the youtube channel. It reminded me those XGames races from early 2010's. Im sold! WorldRX is still fun to watch but it is kinda sad without Andrew Coley. The euroRX is more interesting to me cuz I cheer for Bakkerud and I love seeing more than 10 cars on the heats =/
I struggled with the NRX livestream Friday night as it was freezing and almost unwatchable at times. Waited until Saturday morning and watched the complete broadcast (with no adverts) and it was much better. Given that, I skipped the livestream last night and watched the shortened race program this morning. I saw some complaints about the amount of dead air during the live race show, but the two hour edit uploaded was pretty good (production during the final was poor though).
I personally had issue with the gap jump before the weekend (primarily because of the safety aspect and because I think it adds nothing to the racing) but, after watching the race day, I am even more sceptical about how sustainable NRX is.
In my personal opinion a series where just driving round the track causes so much damage to the cars, there is surely going to be limited long term appeal, especially to smaller privateer teams (and this something that was a major issue for X-Games/GRC in my view)
Sure most of teams won't mind doing this to their cars for one weekend a year, but five events of this nature is going to absolutely hammer these cars (and the teams spare budget!). As a spectator I personally want to see cars racing for wins, not taking victory through attrition. I appreciate that the rest of the tracks might not have quite as many big jumps though.
Not going to make any sweeping statements at this point but, based on the first race weekend, I still favour WRX (even in its current state) over NRX... see if another race weekend or two changes my opinion!
Something different from World RX and Nitro rallycross.

It looks theres already 14 "confirmed" electric cars for the new eRX1 class in World RX 2022.
Some of the current teams + some other teams (no news on who they are) have already secured the electric kits. Cars will be different (fiesta, audi, skoda, etc) but the engines will be all the same.
Not a big fan of having a "top world series" using spec cars but lets see how it goes.
14 entries is already better than what WRX have right now, with 8 cars on the entry list for Montealgre (at least so far)
On the NitroRX, I think it was cool. I like those drivers. It was fun!
...but I loved the argument on these Nitro Tracks destroying the cars haha. So true! Its too expensive to have a big schedule on tracks like this with cars like these. Maybe next year cars will be more like those Super Trucks that americans race in these tracks (utah, glen helen, bark river, crandon...). They CAN handle the jumps and destruction.
Andreas Bakkerud just won the euroRX title... on his 30th birthday! That was amazing. Im a long time fan of this guy! Been following him since 2013. Im so happy to see that!
Also, Florent Tafani just won the european Autocross title this weekend in Mollerussa, Spain. The Super Buggy class is believed to be as fast as the RX Supercars, but they run "open wheel" buggys, with "Open rules" for the engines, basically. Such an amazing championship. Sad that so few people watch that.
JK is back in the Title fight now with a win at Spa - he's now in 2nd place, splitting the Hansen's.
Abbring and Grönholm were both really unlucky in the SF's, getting spun and run off at the first hairpin. Not a fair result for either given their speed in the heats. :(
Snow in Germany for the double-header finale ! :)
Tie on points between T.Hansen and JK !!
Not so bad for the GRX Team! Grönholm 3rd in WRX, Huttunen 3rd in WRC2 & Lindholm 3rd in WRC3...
shout out to Sebastian Eriksson who just finished in P2 in his class in Dakar (light weight cars)
It was His first attempt - racing for Mattias Ekstrom's team. Amazing job!
Seb is such a talented driver. He won a couple of races in Global Rallycross and one win in the WorldRX in Holjes! He never did a full time campaign tho =/
He was expected to run the second OMSE Honda in NitroRX but It looks money talked louder and a Latvian guy got the car.
Gmbh (red bull) is hiring "someone to try to make RX grow" cuz "its slowly dying, heeeelp"
https://jobs.redbull.com/gb-en/event...ip-143157?lang
Nasser Al Atyiah will be racing in Extreme-E this season! He will replace Mattias Ekstrom in the Cupra team.
Cupra is said to be using a different front sticker (and Led lights???) in order to look more similar to the cars they will start to sell in 2024. I mean... its only a sticker (like Chip Ganassi is using Hummer-like "front lights" stickers, but this thought is what WRC is missing. We chatted on the other topic about this. "We are happy to run the nose sticker to be slightly similarISH to the electric SUV we will sell in two years from now".
Ahhh WRC, c'moon man

NGL, I was expecting the new 208e.. (I'm slightly disappointed)

Im going to give it a try cuz I "like to hate" on the hansens and I want to see how these cars perform but I felt 2021 worldRX was waaay tooo steril, u'know? The narrator was weird, the entries were way to small. I like Niclas too but Gronholm bought NitroRX trucks (maybe for Arpin only? Im not so sure)
Lets see. EuroRX will race in Nyirad and a TbA track as stand alone events (the tba is rumoured to be lydden!)
But this is old gen 208.
I was expecting new one too, but it's no surprise then used old cars as a base one.
Maybe they will built car with 2008e bodywork for NRX
Jeez Christina Gutierrez fliped the extreme e car and she stayed inside the car for a while because its kinda hard to get off the car and the track is huge, the safety crew takes A WHILE to get to the car. They took a little more minutes to check if she was 100% ok inside the car (she was maybe shocked?).. eventually she leaves the car and she is fine.
But dude...WHAT IF that car get in fire???? Not because of the electric thing because petrol cars can explode too, but jeeez it is way to away from the safety crew!! I was watching here thinking about this.
Not good
For me 2022 will be all eyes on the European RX championship.
6 Rounds for this year (Nyirad, Holjes, Hell, Riga, Montealegre and Spa) and basically 23 entries for the first round. This is so amazing. Cant wait to make my own "Make EuroRX Great Again" hat.......
WorldRX will probably have around 10 entries only - tho some say 12. Doubt. All spec electric engines. Im sure its going to be interesting somehow but Im not on the mood right now. Last year was a joke, IMO. Even with the supercars (JUST SEVEN of them at some event... pffff)
NitroRallycross will be more interested but Im always between very interested in the new eSUV and totally bored by it.
Better they get all the big names again! =P
RallyX Nordic starts this weekend and its always a great watch. Ekstrom will be racing in Holjes for the first round. All races on youtube, probably.
Rallycross France also started and the full round 1 is on youtube

Is this just me or they just reduced the semi & final laps to five laps instead of six..??
Sent from my M2010J19CG using Tapatalk
They changed everything. Now theres only 3 qualy-heats... Then these FOUR "progression" races that are quite like a reduced "fourth qualy-heat" but only with the... top 18 I guess?.
Then 3 semi finals (the two best second places avance to the final with the 3 winners) and then a 5 car finale
All races with 5 laps. I mean.. It weird now but we will eventually get used.
RallyX series is also having 3 semi finals for a while now. Old GRC used to have these "3 semi finalISH" leading to the finals.
Anyway... Good run for Marklund in a WorldRX car. Baumanis was also racing hard with a Hansen built car. Enzo was also on a WRX car. They are obviously stronger than the rest of the cars but it is what it is! Theres always strong cars and weaker cars. Thats the beauty of it. This track in Nyirad is also super cool. Its what a RX track should look like (IMO).
Loved the whole thing. EuroRX is always a win-win IMO.
I hope Oliver Solberg does more than just one round (I think he is doing Holjes or Hell?) and hope Bryntesson enters the championship ASAP. Marklund is already an EuroRX champ... Gonna cheer for a new champion. Maybe Baumanis?
#MakeEuroRxGreatAgain haha
Nitro Rallycross starts today at Lydden Hill. 1000bhp electric cars plus Kris Meeke should be interesting !
Just watched the 1x1 battles they have on saturdays. I think it was cool. The supercars still look faster tho! (Laptimes were the same basically, right?). Cant wait to see the first race. I imagine theres gonna be some red flags since these big cars can bang and bump A LOT haha. (Weirdly Im missing a redbull colored car on the grid hahah So weird not to have one around).
Both Hansens were on the circuit. I wonder if they choose not to compete in NitroRX this year of if there wasnt more cars built in time. No infos on that
I kinda like these SUV-ish cars, looks amazing while jumping, also well balanced. Most of NRX tracks have huge jumps, so I can imagine it would look even better.
