(2) Most of Rutland is covered by a reservoir and when it's full the area is less. The other contendor must be Middlesex, which only exists during the cricket season, ie the summer when the reservoir is low and Rutland is bigger.
As I understand it, Middlesex is no longer a separate county, as it's part of the Greater London administrative area. The answer was the Isle of Wight, which is a separate county, and tides. At low tide, the Isle of Wight is larger than Rutland, and at high tide, it is smaller. I didn't know about the reservoir in Rutland, and I'm not sure how it fits into this...Quote:
