Spain did look good against a very solid Portuguese defence. But Portugal had nothing going fowards in the second half.
I think Spain have a great chance of reaching the final, but Brazil are looking pretty invincible at the minute.

I was not impressed by Spain, so far they haven't played at the same level as they did in the Europe Cup, but I still think they will be Champions.
Villa, Villa , Maravilla!
And 3 out of 4 semifinalists could be donkey-hablantes  :)Quote:

Perhaps UK football needs more international practice. And a tournament every 2 years doesn't do that.
Perhaps there should be a "5 Nations" i.e. England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland; tournament every 2 years, i.e. years when there is no World Cup or European Championship to make sure that the national teams take part in an important competition at least once a year.
Not to mention it would give all the home nation teams the chance to play if they don't qualify for the other tournaments.
Seems I'm not the only one to have that idea, in fact it's going ahead, just without England! (quelle surprise!)Quote:

England might be a slight favourite for once. ;)
Finally a small break in the games, I was getting tired of watching footy all night long.
If we formed an Anglo/American Team we'd be in with a shout! :uhoh: :p :Quote:
