Former GCK driver @CyrilRaymondRX will give @CitroenRacing its @projekteseries debut in Latvia next week, but
@MadsOstberg , who was supposed to drive in Sweden, could yet do further rounds.
More good news:
Janis Baumanis – who had been due to race the Audi that Mattias Ekström has put into title contention – will return to the World Rallycross bill for his home event in Latvia.
But Baumanis will drive a Ford Fiesta ERX2 in the Projekt E support category rather than taking up his originally-planned JC Raceteknik Audi seat.

And as Projekt-E is happening we may as well have some competition in it...
BREAKING: Two-time DTM Champion and World Rallycross Champion @mattiasekstroem joins Extreme E with @abtmotorsport, who have confirmed @CUPRA as their Main Partner !
For gods sake Eddie, Extreme E has nothing to do with Rallycross, Rally or even with motorsport. It’s just another opportunistic move from Agag’s green gang, regrettably supported by Todt and the FIA. If you want to talk about it, please use the Chit Chat thread on the forum general category.
New #ExtremeE signing @mattiasekstroem title challenge with JC Raceteknik continues into this weekend's #NesteRigaRX rounds. :)

eWRX has 4 entries in RIGA Latvia this weekend.
Citroën Racing @CitroenRacing
@CyrilRaymondRX at the wheel of the electric @Citroen C3 ERX by STARD will make his @projekteseries debut during the #NesteRigaRX in Latvia.

JK with the win in Latvia Race 1.
But Ekström won quali for Race 2 - game on !
C3 ERX wins on it's debut in Projekt-E.
Looks better than the Fiesta with it's R5 chassis and WRC rear aero.
@DirtFishRally
An @ExtremeELive drive may have come calling for @mattiasekstroem, but that hasn't stopped his #WorldRX ambitions for this year:
https://dirtfish.com/rallycross/worl...world-rx-title
Timmy Hansen won race 1 in Barcelona and Ekstrom won qualifying in race 2, and both pushed JK all the way this weekend.
Bakkerud was also back on the pace this weekend and unfortunate in the race 2 final (won by JK, pending a stewards investiagion)
Great to see some real competition now for the him and Polo.
Sooo JK is the 2020 Champion...

Yeah. Spa was fantastic last year (arguably the best round of the year) and I was keen to see how Johan would fare on an unfamiliar circuit.
Agreed. Much like the WRC it hasn't been the full calendar we were hoping for, but at least we have got some racing and the condensed season has meant that consistency has been even more vital.
I was hoping that Germany might have been turned into another double-header weekend: I have actually liked the extra dynamic that has bought to the season this year.
British RX is still aiming to run a double header (without spectators) at the start of December, so hopefully we might get to see a bit more racing before the year is over.

a new promoter is still not found
https://www.fia.com/news/fia-launche...s-championship FIA World Rallycross Championship and FIA European Rallycross Championship from 2022 there will be different championships with different promoters
a new promoter FIA World Rallycross Championship and 2021 FIA European Rallycross Championship is still not found
Seems like WRC Promoter will take over WRX from IMG.
https://parcferme.no/rallycross/parc...rallycross-vm/
A few questions now...
- New promoter is RedBull GmbH so... no more Monster as title sponsor?
- RedBull is also Nitro Rallycross promoter... will them become just one thing? Cuz its too much $$ for two basically equal championships In the middle of a global economic crisis. Plus, with euroRX having a different promoter...
[Btw, someone suggested in some other forum that youthstream(mxgp) or eurosport(erc) could be the new promoter...?]
- Im also thinking about Timmy, Mattias and Johan doing extreme-e. I know theres no clash (dates) but still.... I just Hope they race in RX this year again.
----
edit: it looks RedBull Media will not be NRX promoter after all.
"Thrill One Sports" is the promoter (Nitro Circus, Street League Skate, World Surfing...). RedBull will be a sponsor/partner.
It looks Monster is gone from title sponsor (new sponsor GmbH is RedBull Media) and the calendar may be altered to start in June (Hell) and be finished by early september to avoid conflicting dates with NitroRX (some of the teams are planing to compete in the american championship too). South Africa will be canceled.
NordicRX is also ending earlier to avoid clashes with NitroRX
WorldRX calendar (plus euroRX and RX2e rounds)

August 1 World RX of Germany/2 (RX2e)
September 3-5 World RX of France (euroRX + RX2e)

Mikkelsen testing the 2022 RX electric powertrain in Fabia with Baumschlager:
https://youtu.be/q_QVYNfjt9w?t=452
(Testing starts from 7:30)
- Holje's owners said that they could cancell the event if FIA doesnt reduce the sanctionfee (cuz Sverige is still not allowing big events with public)
- Someone close to the Hell's track said the event may be cancelled.
(These rumors came from the "same people" that said that Monster energy could be out for 2021 and that spa/africa/middle east races would be cancelled. It seems like a safe source but I hope they are wrong about Holjes and Hell.)
RallyX Nordic changed its rules and it will accepting electric cars for its supercar class starting next round!
At least one eFiesta confirmed.
THATS COOL! Mixing the cars! Loved!
and Henri Haapamäki is fast driver (former JWRC driver) and still young.
Car is Paasonen Fiesta made by Stard (is there other manufacturers for eRX Supercars ?)
Mikkelsen recently tested eRX Fabia made by Kiesel Electric, so there are two manufacturers now.
Holjes will probably be postponed in order to be able to have public later in the year (doubt it).
Meanwhile, NordicRX will race in Holjes next weeked with Niclas and Szabo confirmed driving the GRX Hyundais.
