Yeah, and Fiesta R2T19 is really good car, here in Ypres it's top speed gave quite an advantage over Adam also.

So Ypres is over, not the best edition for sure. The entry list was one of the weaker in the last few years, and after lots of crashes and retirements, there wasn't much left to fight for in the last loop. Also the hot weather made it more difficult for the crews and marshalls/spectators. Anyway we've seen some nice action. Went to the forest on SS Zillebeke to get away from the sun and the heat, but then Veiby's burning car arrived at our place. It looks like it started similar like with Polo's, from the back/underneath the car.

Got back to North England at 5am this morning, burnt to a crisp but had a really good few weeks.
Thanks for all your superb videos and photos; seems like I was stood right by a couple of you.
Might not have been the most competitive at the top end, but Breen was superb out there and he and Abbring added the bit 'extra' on top of the BRCs.
For the first time I got to see quite a lot of the historic event this year - Shakedown was a bit disappointing but guess that's to be expected when it's two or three days before the event starts. Cycling the Gent-Wevelgem hills and then to the shakedowns from my hotel was a lot of fun though (although I failed at the steeper Kemmelberg...).
However, the schedule and stages lent themselves to some great stage hopping - loved doing my planning and found some great spots after choosing poorly last year. Section near the end of Dikkebus, the end section at Watou and a fast bit in Kemmelberg were favourites. In the end, on Friday I saw three passes of the top modern cars and one of the historics and on Saturday I got three of each and still made the 8pm ferry.
I wasn't a fan of the Masters concept, but fear Hyundai will consider it a big success. I'm a bit worried about how the event will fare over the next few years if they can't convince many of the top Belgian runners to compete as I don't see the British championship providing too many more entries. Would be great if they could persuade the German or French championship to participate, but that's just wishing aloud.
Anyway, had a lot of fun and not sure if I'll be able to return next year - hope to though!

Its wrong to ,like rallying in Belgium more than the UK isnt it!!
It really isn't. GB in particular has less than a dozen events of any worth now and the only great concerted effort the scene has made in recent times has been to drive away spectators... When half of the British Championship doesn't take place in Britain, and its best event isn't even in the UK, you know we're in trouble!
Kris Princen retired due to fire (at least what is stated in results...)?? I hope nothing seriously....
Tommeke showed me a photo. They managed to extinguish it in time. This time it was a completely different cause.
Another fire in Volkswagen Polo GTI R5?
Yes but completely unrelated to the previous ones.
Had a good event. It's nice to see that some other drivers (Bédoret, Demaerschalk and Cracco) start to match and even beat time of the well-known top drivers in Belgium. Demaerschalk with the Fiesta was a nice surprise, they had a few issues and mistakes, once they sort everything out and when they get more experience with the car, it should be a winning car.
About the championship... Standings after Omloop:
1) Princen - 76pts (4results / 6starts)
2) Bédoret- 72pts (5/6)
3) Cherain - 60pts (4/5)
4) Fernémont - 58pts (4/6)
5) De Mevius - 54pts (6/6)
6) Verschueren - 50pts (6/6)
Only 6 best results count (points system 1st-20, 2nd-16, 3rd-12, 4th-10, 5th-8 etc). At this moment clearly Princen has the best position to become champion, but it's not over yet. Bédoret has been very consistent, his worst result from the 5 so far, is a 3rd place. So if he does two more events he'd have to do better than third place to improve his chances on the title. For Cherain and Fernémont both next events are counting.
