I think they do both, depends how slippery conditions are.

Could they not be arsed turning the floodlights on in the stadium this year? Did anyone think it was a bit dark? Why should the cars have to have their lights on when they are in a stadium!

That is the charm of rally. Driving in dark, even it is a SSS.

It all adds to the effect for the spectators :-)

I think that that's for scenery. Cold, icy, covered with snow decor. It must be lil' bit darky i think.

It's always nice to see it happening live, but this stage didn't look exciting at all. Looked more like a circus to me, with the "Christmas" decor, the fire bursting and the way the cars entered.

Cardiff used to have an outside "proper" SSS till some years ago if I remember correctly. I don't like these stadium stages. Ah well...I'd rather have a real stage anyway.
