One of the Safari organizers replied to my tweet saying it's just rumors and they are proceeding with the rally

Tarmac future for Rally GB ?
https://dirtfish.com/rally/wrc/rally...sphalt-future/
I would rather a tarmac Scottish rally (or a tarmac round in any part of the uk) instead of no rally GB at all. But it would be a bit of a shame to have a rally in scotland, and avoid all the amazing forest roads.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather no Rally GB at all. Let another country have a round, bring back/step up a classic event somewhere else. At least if Rally GB is dead I won't have to hear any more crap from the mouth of useless Hugh Chambers...
If we're doing something different, why not hope for a Rally Isle of Man in the WRC? They have a government that understands the value of a world class motorsport event, they're not as 'right-on' as GB regional politicians and have a proven record of funding events that bring people to the island (in better times). Run it in September and you're reviving a classic event in its traditional slot.
As I said on the other thread, concentrate on sorting the issues with the sport in the UK before thinking of bringing the WRC back to the UK. Having RallyGB in Wales, NIreland, Scotland, Mull, Shetland, etc doesn't matter if the sport is struggling at every level; it's just papering over the cracks. Build the sport up from the bottom first - but that isn't their style.

Great times, we had our hands on the same trophy as the greats of British Rallying (RIP), some fairy tales never last even if they come true, but trying is against the odds is the best part of it
. We’ll be back.

One year (I can't remember which one) when the Manx International was a coefficient 20 ERC round I remember the FIA Observer telling us (unofficially) that he thought the event was better than the RAC and quite a few other WRC events. We went home quite pleased after that!
