Watching a review from Rally Alto Tāmega, from Portugal, Pedro Meireles was saying that he was expecting the arrival of a new gearbox from Germany, which sounded like some sort of upgrade. He was also saying that there are less Polo's running, which makes the process of developing a bit slower.Quote:

I am not aware that Skoda Motorsport have any major events on the horizon so I wonder whether this test (and recent ones of Meeke) are actually testing components for the next Fabia R5? Or maybe just some jokers to see this model through until homologation of the new car.

Anyone that knows what is happening to the Proton Iriz R5, are they competing at all in 2020?
They need a top driver to promote it in ERC or WRC imo, so customers can see what it is good for.
Unlike with the Satria S2000 I don't see any sign of potential in the Iriz R5 to compete against the top dogs. The car looks to be a lost case unfortunately.
