Jack Crapp was the captain of Gloucestershire between 1936 and 1953 and was in the England side that lost against the "Invincibles" in 1948. He would have made a fine batsman had it not been for the Second World War. He finished with a first-class record of 35.03 having scored over 23,000 first-class runs.
