If you look carefully on that page, there are asterisks on most of them and at the bottom of the page it points out that they are on Red Button only.
It would seem that Sky have got the same opinion of NACAR fans in Virginland as the plonkers at NASN/Setanta used to have. It looks as though the only way for us will be to watch it on the nascar.com Raceview/radio commentary.
Great - cover it superbly all year and then kna*ker it just when it gets to the playoffs. I can only assume that the viewing numbers are not enough and they have decided to drop it anyway. Bad news either way.
Perhaps ESPN will take it next year and we can give them a try to se if they are any better.
Sorry, thought the link I posted was showing some new information.
Red button means that I will not be able to record the races. A replay on monday would be fine (for me) but even those are only highlights :(
looks like i'll be going back to torrents for the time being!
Rain for sunday and live coverage monday would be better :s mokin:
Complained to Sky and got the following reply ...
"We are sorry to hear that you are not able to access our red button live
coverage on Sunday of the Sylvania 300 from Loudon. Despite the choice
of four sports channels from time to time the schedules are full of live
programming, so it is not physically possible to show everything live.
However we hope you will tune in to the highlights show on Monday
morning at 10am on Sky Sports 2, 4pm or 8.30pm on Sky Sports Extra.
We are indeed live on the 4th of October (we are only interactive via
the red button until 8.30pm ) and also live on the 17th and 25th of
October and the 1st of November"
Looking at the tv listing, it seems as though a two hour golf review counts as an important LIVE event then....
fortunately, ive also got a vcr and pvr so i'll be setting the sky box up and recording the output onto the pvr while as a family we watch some other material (freeview or recorded)that we have in common.Quote:

Yeah, I saw that, sometimes Sky can be really stupid with their live coverage, I distinctly remember an Indycar race in the middle of the night over-running and changing channel as a result because of a scheduled program which was a retrospective on boxing, not live, not even recent and as I was sound asleep I didnt see the end of the race. As for live coverage congestion, tonight we have Rugby League (a niche of a niche sport which is dying on its arse since Union went professional), Spanish football (generally sub-standard compared to domestic premier league), NFL (whilst very popular in the states it has never caught on over here, I actually think in general its less popular than NASCAR is in Britain) and Golf, a round up program followed by live coverage, don't get me started on Golf, its a boring sport played by even more boring people. So all this is being shown in preference to NASCAR, which has now reached the championship "play off", hence interest in it is at its peak, yet apparently a dead sport, a 2nd rate football league, a sport which no one likes and a sport that is plain boring are all preferable to the 2nd most watched motorsport category in the world at a critical point in it's season!Quote:
