It's ghastly. That Panasonic sticker on the front corners personifies how out of place everything is.

The worst part of all this is that it's been tweaked to make it ever so slightly more horrible. The only differences are sponsor placements and those shards of accents on the front leading to the new bumper, unfortunately ruined by the livery. Seriously, that Panasonic sticker is atrocious. I didn't mind the livery last year but, come on, it got old before it was even new.
I tried making a side by side of old vs new here

Never seen so many people by the placement of a sticker before...
The subject of liveries not changing is quite an interesting one. A big part of me would like to see the cars look different every year. But equally, like any team or brand, there's something to be said for consistency and teams building that brand recognition. Like Subaru did in the 90s. So I can see both sides, particularly when big name title sponsors are all but a thing of the past.
In general teams are pretty lazy though. I'd love to see more unique one-off liveries or throwback paint schemes on events. It's great PR and good for merchandise etc. How many people, particularly in the UK, bought those Michelin Pilot bobble hats back in 2014. I still see them on rallies. Stuff like that is incredibly popular among the fans.
Last years privateers have better liveries, at least that's my opinion. Hyundai should stick with 2016 and that black color is missing... Citroen have nothing special. Toyota...hmm better looking Nasser's hilux than these wrc machines. Ford/M-Sport have/had at least good looking for almost all years... Skoda have good too but those green wheels a big no...

FMC plates? Wow, haven't seen these since the Martini days...
