Two of the 2017 S1s have a new home with JC Raceteknik...whoever they are.
Tried posting a Facebook link but didn't really work, it's on the EKS page though.
Have read a bit more about JC, seems to have a decent number of prospects in their book of names, including Bryntesson, De Ridder and Evjen.
Interesting stuff from STARD about their 2019 spec @FIAWorldRX supercar !
Pretty much all new car based on latest Fiesta with input from @FordPerformance.

So 2 cars confirmed, wonder who the second driver will be?
This is the interesting line for me "STARD has also announced that it is receiving support from Ford Performance for its new 2019 Supercars." Given comments earlier this week that they're still invested in the idea of Electric RX it seems like Ford are trying to get back involved and take advantage of the other manufacturers pulling out.
Ford Performance said it already at the end of 2017, that they like the EV idea and want to take part in it, but there needs to be clarity, when and what. They just didn`t like the idea of developing costly cars for a short period.
NEWS | FORD WEIGHS UP ELECTRIC RALLYCROSS FUTURE ⚡
"It makes sense as a good place to race full electric cars given what the event is: the performance, the duration and the passion or explosiveness of the cars."

Paddon doing GRC in a Hyundai.
They will be in World RX with real spec Hyundais. Maybe with 3 cars

I can see so many things I don't like here, from having 2 jumps, so much tarmac, not at least so much tarmac with no gravel in between, and then having a banked corner in the gravel section. So, just set the cars up for tarmac, and have slicks...
Meh. Really disappointed in this.
Also, they had a magnificent chance here to build a proper RX track, with proper gravel sections etc. But instead it will be just like every other new goddamn awful track. Keep digging your own grave WRX.
Lydden Hill in anti-clockwise format. GRCE is looking more appealing by the day.
Gronholm RX will announce their plans next week. They released a teaser video with i20 driving around wrapped in black. People are sugesting that Bakkerud will be there.
In the video, the three drivers are Gronholm, Timerzyanov and Nitišs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-Zw8Ko4Dkk
Still plenty of time until the season, but it's still looking fairly light in terms of entries. Really hope that the Hansens bring something to the table and Bakkerud gets a drive.
At the minute it seems that GRCE has more news, although I take a bit of it with a pinch of salt.
Galli is basically a press release asking for a driver with a budget to buy a ride from him.
GCK though, they have been quiet and I think without the works cars at the front they and GRX could get some over-due results. Hope they return.
I wonder what Ekstrom is doing this season? I thought he would return to circuit racing with Audi, but so far no announcement.
With the current list, and based on 2018 form, I still think that Baumanis is going to be the one to beat. He was regularly the closest challenger to the factory teams.
I was wondering about Bakkerud and his sponsorship deals. I don't know if he was a Red Bull 'athlete' in the same way that he was at Monster. e.g were Red Bull sponsoring him or the team? If just the latter then presumably he's burnt his bridges with Monster and lost a reasonable cash injection in the process?
Would be great to see him get one of the spaces that's up for grabs, I think he'd be a challenger in either the Stard Fiesta or the GCK Megane.
Baumanis or Gronholm would be my pick. I thought Niclas was hugely impressive last year.
I have heard (from a relatively trustworthy source) that the switch between brands was amicable, so I think he'd be OK to switch back if need be.
Bakkerud in the GCK Megane could be a very interesting combination. I did wonder if Bakkerud might be a possible option for ES Motorsport as well?
I read a rumour that Hayden Paddon will compete in some EU rounds.
@Craig_Breen
Massive thanks to @DerekTohill, I got to experience a Ford Fiesta Supercar at the launch of the #irishrallycross Championship this week....
It's like nothing I have ever experienced! I may have to explore my options in rallycross.

Norwegian Pål Vetle Try, a sometimes rally-driver will do selected rounds in World RX 2019, for STARD. The article is from Norway, and behind a pay-wall, so I couldn't see which rounds. Just that he will do some.

The entry deadline for FIA WRX have passed now I think. Should come some news then. With emphasis on should.
Seems like a while since we have had some good news, but I think this is pretty positive:

Kristian Szabo will contest the World Championship in an EKS run Audi S1.
I thought Szabo was very impressive at Loheac last year, I think he might be my new favourite for the title!
Szabo World Champion 2019 ?
NO.
