Thanks for reviving the thread.
The only clear thing in this pic is the Indy pagoda.
Could that be the hideous 4WD car called 'Pat Clancy Special' and raced by Billy DeVore in 1948 ?

Mihai has it!
Like I said, I am not sure who it is exactly, but the car, a 6 wheeled Kurtis-Offy appeared twice @ Indy. Billy Devore drove it to 12th in 1948, and Jackie Holmes dnf'd in 22nd in 1949.
You're up.

race
year
Bobby Unser
Corvette
Indy 500
2006
Car, event and year are correct, but the driver of the Vette Z06 pace-car is a bit younger than Bobby Unser...
Lance Armstrong???
Yep, Lance drove the Indy 500 pace car in 2006.

Go 4 it, Chris!
You know, at a distance, Lance and Uncle Bobby kinda favor each other :D

Please discard my previous message. I changed my mind and I can't edit my post. Here's my second guess :
Tony Stewart
2001 Indy 500
G-Force Oldsmobile
It is Tony Stewart et al - Mihai's turn!!
Here's an easy one :

I hope I didn't use it already in this game.
Lone Star JR - Chaparral Cosworth
Mario - Penske PC9 Cosworth
Uncle Bobby - Penske PC9 Cosworth
Indy 1980
Yep, it's them!
Speaking of the lone star state, guess who presented the prize for pole-position at TMS a couple of years ago :

It's yr turn ykiki
Johnny Rutherford was one of my favorites as a kid back in the 70's (I loved the Gatorade car), and the Chaparrel has to be my favorite Indy Cars of all time - I loved how the aerodynamics gave it such a different, futuristic look than its competitors.
Anyway, on to the next one...
Mihai,
Thanks for posting that Indy pic. That Chapparal was gorgeous -- probably the best looking of all the Lotus 79 imitators.
Mihai, That is one gorgeous front row!! The Essex car was really sharp and the Chapparal is a classic - I still find the early ground effects cars to be among the prettiest Indycars ever....
Thanks for the awesome shot!
The new photo looks like Roberto Guererro in 1989 in a March / Alfa-Romeo - lets try Mid-Ohio
I believe that's Portland. The yellow grass gives that away. I think that's a 87 March though, isn't it?Quote:

Congratulations guys, fight amongst yourselves to post the next pic. :D

It is a cosy :) The oval had those turquois walls for years?
Aha! Colonel Mustard with the Lola at Michigan!
If not, then I'll go with the Wrench in the Parlour.
lol ...
OK I can see this isn't as fun as I thought it was gonna be.
1995 Lola Cosworth, 1994 short oval wing package ala Payton-Coyne 95. The snap is from the end of pit lane at Phoenix 2006 ... I thought the turquois walls would give it away. Not to be confused with the sea green walls at Homestead. This car is based on the car Buddy Lazier drove at Michigan in 1995 and was the only 6 speed transmision car in the Payton-Coyne stable, the rest were 5 gear cars. All above facts are subject to corrections by Waldo.
My sponsor is the Bunny Ranch. For those of you who do not know what that is, there's always google.
The mod we use is iDT's 1995 CART IndyCar mod, http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail...0CART%20Season, that also contains the 1994 season. All cars have different engine, tire and chassis specifications and yes the Penske's are slower on the super speedways.
Mod maker iDT was the official maker of simulations for Champcar and did the 06 and 07 dp01 mods that were at most real races for hospitality and are now available for free downloading as an add-on for rFactor http://rfactor.net/ at http://www.rfactorcentral.com/.
The league I run in is MNRL's MIRL division http://www.mnrlonline.com/, that AJ Dinger has a little history in, and after the first 3 races of this season yours truly is 3rd over-all in the points: http://racepointsmanager.com/pm3/?le...=standings&s=1
And for those of you who just can't get over the CART days, like me, for a mere 3 to 4 thousand dollar investment you can re-live it by driving the simulation.
That actually was kind of fun. I was going to say "if not Michigan, then Phoenix", but thought I'd go with the Wrench in the Parlour instead. Couldn't help myself - I played Clue with my kids last week, and with the yellow helmet it had to be Colonel Mustard! :D
Here's a photo to put everyone in the Christmas spirit :D :)
