Road gravel (I hope this is the correct english name for what we call Rollsplitt in Austria) and dirt from cutting. I think that is what you see on the Photo.
1. Tlustak, 2. Griazin, 3. Aigner, 4. Pech, 5. Harrach, 6. Kajetanowicz, 7. Baumschalger, 8. Odlozilik, 9. Tarabus, 10. Consani, 11. Cerny, 12. Kubica
Startlist
If You find some Czech proxy You can watch onboards from qualification and the rest of the rally here: http://www.mediasport.cz/rally/onboardy.html
Unfortunately I think it's restricted for Czech IP only at least for some time. Normally in case of Barum they release the onboards for foreign IPs after one week. Can You check if that is the case this time?
Is running 12th on the road a good idea for Kubica if there is no snow? There will be "mud and sh1t" all over the road further down surely?
In Austria they are currently working.Quote:

Thanks for your replies guys! I found some more photos of Kubica and there is no sign of snow on them. It almost looks like a rally held in early spring!

It's like spring. It is possible, that temperatures are climbing to 10-15 degrees tomorrow in the afternoon due very warm South winds.
Starting order to first leg - http://rally-base.com/2014/31-int-janne ... TypeId=404
I see the stewards have relaxed the ruling on tyres for Janner; any tyres are allowed for 15"-17" and cars on 18" can use any tyre that was homologated after October 2013
It looks like the reason was not enough new tyres available...
Nice Pictures Hari!
Yes, tomorrow it will be a perfect day for watching a rally, on fast tarmac. I´d say also the perfect weather for Kubica. But fog is predicted tomorrow, therefore possibly ice from frozen fog in the morning stages, especially in the forest parts as seen today in the last meters of the qualifying stage. Freistadt at -1,1°C at the Moment, Bad Zell (nearby Pierbach stage) +0,2°C.
Tomorrow evening it could already begin to rain.

Kejatan going very fast, it should be his best attempt. Very impressive drive, sliding in almost corners, but too many understeer. Maybe if he got clear lines he can be faster than Kubica...Quote:

I feel ERC will be more interesting this year with new cars coming on stream and some new drivers too, along with an improved calendar.
According to Pluto almost half of Pierbach stage is covered by frost/ice. Liebenau and St. Oswald mostly without ice, only some patches. Most of the crews chose 4x studded tyres.
Looks like an exciting first stage then! First three cars struggling
Does Aigner drive on Michelin?
Almost everyone went off on studded tyres on the first stage. Who said this would be a boring dry edition? :p
