Weng is another tourist with magic powers...
Hans-Erik Weng, he's Swedish ;)
he confused him with that chinese person from rally GB...
not big difference in skills though.
Which unfortunately is dead...Quote:

Or maybe he is confusing with Wang, who did the PWRC in 2010.
Anyway, why we started talking about Weng? He did something special?
magic powers...along with Al RailhjlQuote:

Yes, there have been many better entry lists. I mentioned those from 2007 because some posts before, people said that 2012 was best entry list since 2003Quote:

One thing which will be strange this year is standing in the forest friday morning waiting for the first car. This has always been my favourite moment in a rally.
But instead of hearing and seeing Sebastien Loeb flying through the corner (which has been the case in Sweden almost every year lately) it will probably be Pablo Nobre. The question is if he will be as impressive.
How is the snow situation now, less then 1 month before the start ?
#WRC Rally Sweden Google Earth Map 2012 is now online Programme du Rallye Wrc de Suède 2012
Many thanks Jeremie!

Not a lot of snow on the webcams :-(
snow is not a major factor...the biggest problem is if we do not have ice...
but still long before the rally, 2-3 days of bad weather is enough to have good winter conditions.
Snow is major factor as well, without snowbanks drivers need different lines. With snowbanks you can lean the back of the car against them ...
Last two winters RS did not have any ice on the stages I visited. Very much snow. And hard snow surface which was gone after ten cars. There´s no problems except for lack of cold I´d say. Just different ways to tackle the rally.Quote:

good but in all fairness and respect, Stockholm-Arlanda is situated on the east coast,Quote:

Snow is definitely not a "major" factor! A winter rally depends first and foremost of a proper ice surface. Without ice it will be a gravel rally (frozen or muddy), which is a totally diferent matter. But this year I think Rally Sweden will have icecovered roads, anyway the conditions for the friday in Norway looks perfect at the moment. Its not a lot of snow, but proper ice surface on the roads.Quote:

I was at Fredriksberg last year, at the ice on the road actually stayed good, it looked good even when we left after the first loop.Quote:
