I rename the mcrae skin(mitsu) to seat, and it worked.I was happy :)
Yesterday i wanted to play i bit with my "new" xsara, and the game wrote me a message: "Please make sure if the CMR2 cd is in the CD-rom" , or sg like that. This was only with Seat. I put an another xsara skin to the game(Loeb kronos skin), but the answer was the same.
Finally i had to copy back the original cordoba skin to the game.
Do you have an idea what could happened?

I've also had this problem just now.
Loaded up Sweden SSS in Single Stage, in my custom-skinned Impreza and said "Please make sure CMR2 CD is in the drive"
and then crashed to desktop

Take you new files, copy the *a1N.c3d , paste and rename to *c1.c3d
the same thing with copy the *a1.bfl, paste and rename to *c1.bfl, then you will use same files for normal stages as well as for ss11.
I know this is a very amateur question, but I'm rubbish with computers! I've never owned CMR2 but I'm thinking about ordering, but before i choose to get it, can anybody anwer these questions:
1) Is it easy/possible to add new cars to the game or replace cars, or is it just skins added to existing similar cars? Could I have Petter's 07 Impreza, Loeb's 07 C4, Hirvonen's 07 Focus, Suzuki SX4 08and Galli's Pug 307 etc. on the game - and is it easy for someone who is a bit dumb?!
2) Is the game actually very good? It seems good, but is really old so do the possible edits make it better? And are the stages like RBR i.e. lots of them and they're quite long.
3) The main question is can the game be made semi-official - that is to say can there be real names and real car names for the added cars - and is this easy to do?
Answers within the day appreciated greatly!!
Sorry, one more question is that if the demo works, then will the real game definately work as well?

If the demo works then the game will work. :)
It's not that easy re-skinning cars as you need to be able to work with Photoshop and other tools which can be difficult...but installing new cars is easy.
You can change the name of the cars and drivers in the game but this does require a tool that can be downloaded....http://www.colinmcrae.110mb.com/cmr2.htm
Stages length varies...usually takes at most 4 or 5 minutes to complete a stage if your quick...some stages don't take a minute! :D
4 of 5 minutes? Maybe that's the case if you stop on stage when nature calls, but the longest is around 3.30. :D
