Third stage win in a row for Loeb, but he gains only 5 minutes on both Nasser and Moraes. But considering the special stage was only 114 Km, Seb won it by a 3 minute gap on Ekstrom, it's impressive.

Ales Loprais is not able to continue #Dakar2023 following yesterday's fatal accident involving an Italian spectator. Loprais, who was leader of the general truck classification at the time, was only informed of the tragic news on his arrival at the bivouac last night.
I saw the footage, what an absolutely stupid place to stay. I don't mean to badmouth a dead person, but to be in a place where you are impossible for a car to avoid in the middle of the desert, it takes a special talent.Quote:

Fourth win in a row for Loeb, but just like yesterday's stage, only 6 minutes gained on Al Attiyah and Moraes. So far, these "difficult to navigate" dunes stages have proven not difficult for most drivers...

With today's fifth stage win, Loeb equals the record of most consecutive stage wins at Dakar of Ari Vatanen from 1989.
Only 2 relatively short stages left, so Nasser got this in the pocket. Unless someone blows his Hilux up while he's sleeping :D
6 consecutive stages, 7 stage wins out of 14, and still 1 hour 20 minutes behind Nasser... clearly speed or navigations are not the problems for Seb in rally raid.
Well you could argue that Nasser would be faster when trying in a fight for the lead, as much as I’m a huge fan it has been pretty much an open goal for Loeb to shoot for. Just such a shame the car let him down early on.
