Hmmm, seems not even 4 consecutive titles guarantees you a ride these days.

Jeebus - if even part of what Szoke says is true, then he's been rooted big time. Maybe Kawasaki wanted to trim costs, but they seem to have put him in a parlous state with his sponsors, given that his earnings from them depend on racing in two classes. It's just plain rude on the teams' behalf, and they seem to be hiding behind a screen of spin and bullsh!t.
Like the last revolution with the last incarnation of FX in Australia....Quote:

Apologies to Kiwi cuz's for not including on calendar but caught me unaware.
Three rounds in January and only two to go.
The Phantom mentioned Andrew Stroud on the Motorcycle Racing Ingenuity thread re the amazing John Britten story.
In fact, Stroud currently leads the 2010 championship 13 points ahead of Aussie and reigning champ Robbie Bugden.
Have amended the racing calendar accordingly.
Some MAJOR changes to the scoring system in BSB are coming in this year:
http://britishsuperbike.com/news/bsb...e-changes.aspx
It's a bit like the system they now use in NASCAR, where the top twelve drivers at the end of the first 26 races qualify for 'The Chase' for the last ten. Not quite sure on the merits of it for BSB but it's the same for everyone of course and won't alter the standard of racing by any means. The NASCAR system is designed to try and encourage guys to race to win throughout the season (in a field of 43 cars with points going all the way down, consistency matters so a top ten is always viewed pretty positively) but I don't strictly think that's necessary in bike racing.
Even so, interesting times.
Why would the organizers contemplate the change when clearly, the series current popularity is due to the way it has evolved over the years with the existing system in place?????
     Absolute BS.
If they wanted to inspire more interest toward the end of the season then they could double the points for the last 3 rounds.
The system now proposed would obviously penalize the riders and teams who/that put in the effort throughout the majority of the season and would breed resentment among fans.
Consistent performances warrant the results they achieve.

It's a great series, the kiwi superbikes. Stroud and Bugden in the superbikes and Cole and James Smith in supersport are going toe to toe, blow for blow and both classes should go down to the wire.
James Ellison has been confirmed at Shaun Muir Racing (Honda) formally HYDREX Honda in the BSB.
Looks like GSE are gone.
The Australian Superbike Championship kicks off this weekend as support to the World Superbike circus at Phillip Island. 2010 sees a very different ASBK grid to last season with the defection of Yamaha to the rival Formula Extreme series, Kawasaki pulling out all together and Honda being represented by a number of distributor supported privateers only. On the positive side, Ducati return with a factory effort and multiple privateers and Aprilia and KTM also are running factory teams. It really is an exciting lineup. The entry list is as follows:
