"Le Grand Challenge" 2010 starts today afternoon :p :

There was this young gentle symphatetic French driver with a female co-driver, they used to drive Peugeots and also Fabia WRCs some three years ago on some tarmac WRC events quite successfuly (5.-8.places at RMC, TdC...) - what happened to them, sadly haven't heard anything the last years :-(

They drove something in French championship with 307 WRC one or two years a go. For a short time also in Ypres 2009 with Corsa S2000...

If you mean Bengue...its a long story...he announced a few years back that he quits rallying but from time t time he appears in some local events.

Sad news from France in this start of 2011... :mark:


Driver from Monaco, Michel Gioffre, who was ill from several years now and despite all was running rallies of french championship and national events in great cars(306 Maxi, then 206WRC)...finally died on 3rd of january :(

He was an example for other people also hit by disease, handicaped, etc...seeing that they could keep on their hobbies in spite of their health problems

Thanks N.O.T. In fact there were more promising "young" french tarmac drivers in the past... Bengue, Bernardi, Tirabassi... what happened to all of them? Is the drivers career in France so dependent on the almighty FFSA?

Belgian driver Claudie Tanghe with a Citroën DS3 R3 on rallye des Routes du Nord(event counting as first of the french Citroën Racing Trophy) ;)

Another one on the same car: Bart Maes...someone from the forum heard of him ??? :confused:

Yes, Bart Maes won the regional Hemicuda Rally in Belgium last year in an Octavia WRC from Bernard Munster Autosport and was 4th overall in the Short Rally Staden with the same car.
