It's possitive each class has Its own sounds though.
I think that is the least we can expect from the game, that the car classes have their own sounds. They have an exclusive license, and should make the very most of it! Come on LCD, up your expectations and demands a little bit ;)
A little off topic, but Important news:
WRCgame Greek Fans facebook community are rallying with WRC3 In a real rally event
supporting crew Hlias Kolokythas-Nikos Ntovas with a Ford Escort MK2 at 1st Meteora Rocks Rally Sprint this weekend 6-7 October (GREECE)!

Now that I look at this videos I think that the game is going to be as we sad before, really good, the graphics will be really good, the cars is more or less really beautiful done! The cars looks like they do in real more or less and that's good!
The thing Milestone really has to rebuilt and think really hard how it has being this bad is the sound of cars. I can't understand this when everybody say that this is live-recorded??????????????
The sound of the Proton, DS3 WRC, Evo 9, Clio, Fiesta WRC is good when the car stand still in the start of stage when the player not accelerate the engine - then I really hear the individual sound of each and every car. There all is good BUT as we accelerate away and the car is "working" in full speed, something happends and the sound of each and every car "dies" and sounds the same?? why???
I hear that every class has it "own" sound and that's good but it's not okey. As Bennizw sad - we need to have demands and this is the WRC license that Milestone have - they need to do better on the car sounds...
I can hear a little EVO sound from the Mitsubishi in full power and that's also good but it's much much more to do for the future of WRC 4! Because then, Milestone has had 3 games and a lot of time on their hands to fix this small things!
As Bennisw wrote, I only demand that all things in a WRC game is going to be as real as it can be in a game! And if Codemasters can do "okey" sounds, then I think Milestone with their "live recording" soundsystem can do much better then this! And when amatur people around the world can do almost perfect car sound for RBR, then Milestone can do it for the real WRC game!
For me it's okey if Milestone had say that they for WRC 3 had to prio the graphics, physics and other stuff instead of car sound. And if they had sad that the real sound had to wait for example the WRC 4 game. Then it's absolutely okey!
But don't say that "the sound now is going to be real and now we have live-recorded each and every car, inside and outside". That's a lie... ;)
This game is going to be great but I hope for much better improvements in all the things for next year! They need to step it up and not be satisfied...
Now when they have done really good stages in their "new" built rallys, then they need to fix the rest!
But I have said this before. Milestone has done a great work because we can no longer speak about the last two ****ty games when we talk about this one and that make me smile! They have done a good job but Bennizw is right!
Looking forward to next weekend!! :)
Once again we agreed. The main problem is that Milestone are lying about their work. If they said that they have improved the sounds a little, it would have been OK. But, when they say they have recorded the actual cars, and results are as we hear, they are lying to our faces...
Yes and that's a fact! Otherwise it would't be this way. I'm talking about this things because I think that the sound in a rally game is VERY important for the feeling. All of us real rallyfans want the true feeling with the sound and all the small details in the stages and more. It's very important for the whole concept.
The true rallyfeeling....
I only hope that Milestone will work hard on this for next game!
;)
As someone who has done a little sound work for film and TV I can say it is entirely possible and likely that they are not "lying", and recorded the real cars inside and out and ended up with weak results - keep in mind the system must match the RPM, clutch, shifting, turbo noises to what you're actually doing in the game, so it is playing (ideally) a different sound file for every little gradation of RPM. This is very hard to switch between smoothly and sound responsive and correct. The easier way is to create loops and change the frequency (pitch up or down) instead of using a different loop for the many many steps between idle and redline RPM. The problem with this way is even if you started with a real sound, it ends up sounding synthesized because the computer is changing the frequency rather than using different sounds for each step of RPM. Perhaps that's it?
The other issue is reverberation simulation changing depending on if there's a rock wall on one side or the other, or both, or forest vs. open space, narrow village street, etc. I haven't heard enough of WRC3 to criticise that aspect, but Dirt 3 did both pretty well.
Thank you. You put this way better than I could have.Quote:

Kirungi: You work with this, you seems to know what you're talking about, can you please explane for me and others who wonder...
How can the amatur people get almost perfect car sound, inside and outside for RBR and Codemasters get a okey/good sound for Dirt but Milestone can't??
What do you think is the diffrence? Why do they never succsess on this part of the game?
I cant understand this but want some answear from a guy like you who work with this! :)
For me it sounds easy for a team like codemasters and Milestone to get a Fiesta, DS3 and Mini WRC to sounds like real in a game when the amaturs almost fix this for a old game like RBR??
I like what I see, I do not like what I hear!! :D ;) :)
