Wow! By far the most "on the edge" Monte testing I've seen this year. He still has reserves in the hairpins (he has a lot to learn from The God of tarmac hairpins - Panizzi;-) but he's damned quick - and so is his Fabia!!! Podium or crash, nothing else...Quote:

Letīs hope this absence from (Portugal Telecom) isnīt related to Armindo Araujo's effort to step up to the premiership in the WRC.Quote:

I'm a big fan of both Armindo and Bruno but if this is the case (and i'm just being hypothetical here) it would be very unfair on Bruno and Peugeot who were already very short on budget last year.
That said, I think Armindo also deserves to step up in his career so unless some other big companies become involved maybe one of them will have a tough time getting together a good campaign this year.
weather seems to be completly dry.... and temp above zero. Is there any snow on the road or on the side of the road now?

Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat (through editor Heikki Kulta, renown F1 reporter) writes about Kubica's absence:
That was my translation. Here's a Google Translate to the original story.Quote:
Renault didn't stop Kubica from driving in Monte Carlo
Robert Kubica didn't step aside from driving at Monte Carlo rally because Renault would've prevented him from driving at other make. This claim was circulated when Kubica's name dropped from the entry list.
Kubica would've wanted a four-wheel drive car for a rally that was predicted to be snowy and icy, but because the French make didn't have one to offer, Polish driver choosed not to participate.
He didn't look after at any other cars, so giving up on Monte didn't cause any fight between the driver and his F1 team.
Do we get pickems for the event this year?
