old road car ?

(Road) Fabia had "only" facelift, so it still uses same platform as before (Polo uses newer VAG platform)

It´s clear that FiestaR5 Mk8 is all new and FabiaR5 evo is just evolution.
But you can´t upgrade your old FabiaR5 to FabiaR5 evo spec

The car is based on the same stock car (facelifted bodywork) but it's so much different compared to the previous R5 car that it can not be homologated within the available homologation jokers hence a completely new homologation.

Also unsaleable I would have thought.

It's the fourth Polo burnt down this year, if I count correctly (Camilli, Marban, Meireles, Vieiby).
