Rallye du Rouergue(3rd event of tarmac championship) running this week-end ;)
Marty(Focus WRC) leading the first leg of yesterday friday ahead of Dacunha(C4 WRC)and Bonato(208 T16 Pirelli) ;)
Unluck for Brunson(Fiesta WRC), Roche(Fiesta WRC), Rouillard(Porsche in Trophée Michelin) all retired with mechanical problems(looks like engine broke for the three drivers) :( also unluck for Cuoq(C4 WRC)who had puncture in SS2 and fall from 1st to 8th overall...

What's going on in Auxerrois? How can the cap between DS 3's and 208 R2's be such a big? Is there something special or is it just the difference between the steering wheel and the seat? Pity for Suarez, his pace was excellent, again.

Suarez was flatout everywhere, very crazy! Lancers and Imprezas very dissapointing.. Cuoq gets a quite easy win again. Baud and Feraud were nice to see though.

Enjoyed my trip to Auxerre, despite the entry list.
Luckily the DS3 and 208 cups were there. Otherwise, it would have been a poor rally.
As for why the 208s were faster then the DS3s... Difficult to say. Visually, the DS3 drivers were attacking too, so I don't think the difference was with the drivers. only Suarez, he was way faster, everywhere, then the other drivers. On SS6 he got a puncture, continued on it and that broke the car...
I think the biggest difference is the handling of the cars. Auxerre stages are very fast. 208 is much more stable then the DS3. We saw a strange crash of a DS3, nobody had problems on that corner, and suddenly that DS3 jumped out of the tracks and rolled several times. All other cars were perfectly stable there.
Also need to note that they are driving the old DS3 R3, not the Max.

Terrible accident in Rallye Mont Blanc. Frédéric Comte went off the road with his Xsara WRC, according to information he died in the crash, while Angélique Comte (codriver) is in the hospital. The news is still to be confirmed, I hope it's not true but people don't make jokes about this... :(
My deepest condolences to his family and friends. :( I wish we wouldn't have to hear this kind of news...
Sad news :(
I can see it most likely happened on SS2 which was sponsored by his team...
Another one. What a tragedy. RIP
RIP Frédéric Comte. I hope His wife (co-pilot) will get well, apparently she s seriously injured.

4 Chavanne (997 Cup) 2'30
5 P Roche (Fiesta WRC) 2'44
6 Mauffrey (208 T16) 5'40

...
Is the prize award for the 208 cup again a program with the 208 t16 in the ERC?
It's not exactly writen like this. The winner, if he is less than 28, wins a "program with a 208 T16 to Peugeot Sport colours".
And, there's a junior price too. The contenders are less than 23. The must finish between 2nd and 5th place overall, and 5 drivers must compete during the year. It's a "program with a 208 R2 to Peugeot Sport colours".
If the winner is more than 28, he wins a race with an official 208 T16 for a race in french championship (gravel or tarmac).
But even without the price, I'm quite Suarez will do ERC next year. He is entered by Peugeot España (as Lopez), and I'm quite sure they aren't doing this just for the fun.
For the moment, Suarez is leading. He is almost champion.
There's a bigh fight for the junior title.
Jordan Berfa is 2nd overall, 1st junior with 37.
Then we have belgian de Mévius with 25 (6th), Monaco's Riberi with 21 (8) and spanish Lopez with 18 (10). (same point system as in WRC)
All can change ...
Unfo it seems one more fatal accident at Rallye Vosgien.....

Entry list for the Finale of French Cup : http://finalesdesrallyes2015.fr/wp-c...onvocation.pdf
Only 145, which is quite low for a finale (around 170-190 usually). It's due to the location, in the North. It costs too much for the guys with small cars from the South.
But there's quality with top contenders. A lot of guys can win ... Morin (Fiesta R5), Pustelnik (208 T16), Longépé (208 T16), Beaubelique (Fiesta R5), Puppo (Fabia S2000), Pruvot (Fabia S2000), Galpin (207 S2000), Mortier (Impreza GT), Deraedt (Celica GT-Four), or even Vanson (Lancer Evo VIII) ... It's open !
If you are from Belgium, UK, Netherlands, ... and you want to travel and discover it, that will never be so closed ! :)
It's in Samer, close to Boulogne sur Mer. Something like 50 km south of Calais and 100 km west to Lille (Rijsel :) )
That's mixed.
You have some good drivers, who can do well in the tarmac championship (like Galpin, Longépé, Pustelnik, ...).
You can see some young guns at the beginning of their career. I remember Gilbert did it with a Clio RS.
And some aren't really good ... they just have the money to run a lot of French cup events to qualify ... or they are smart enough to drive in a category where there's not a lot of opponents to take points :)
Coming to see the finale too, only on saturday. I was at the finale in Dunkerque in 2009, but it was quite disappointing (mostly due to the stages)... Hoping for better this year, the list looks good. :)
Stages will be different. Dunkerque looked more like typical flanders road.
Samer is more like Normandy. Some stages were used by Le Touquet a long time ago. There's some hills. That's quite unique in Nord Pas de Calais.
But maybe it will be difficult to spectate due to the hedges between the fields. I need to study maps :p

Tomorrow saturday starts the Rallye terre des Cardabelles, penultimate round of the french gravel championship: new duel between Cuoq(C4 WRC)and Baud(Fiesta WRC) ;)
It will be also the penultimate round of the Peugeot 208 Cup...I guess Antonio Suarez can be winner of the overall competition this coming week-end ;)
Result will be on http://www.brennusinfo.fr/
Currently is running the Final de la Coupe de France des rallyes, the traditionnal event that gathered all the "best" drivers during the french rallies season ;)
This year the Finale is running in northern France(Pas-de-Calais, in the city of Samer) :)
Weather terrible(rainy, muddy, slippery)...lots of drivers on the retirements list since yesterday evening friday :s
First unlucky driver was also favourite for the win: Bruno Longépé(208 T16)crashed and had a puncture on SS1, apparently too much damage to the car to continue ;(
For now after SS5 Dominique Rebout and Jérôme Galpin are leading in their 207 S2000s, but Jean-Charles Beaubelique is only 11" off behind the leader and three stages remain ;)
http://www.patricksoft.fr/
Haha, terrible conditions yes. Fortunately I didn't drown :p
Quite nice stages, but mixed experience. My first pass was nice, with terrible conditions - gravel roads with some ruts. We could see the guys who attacked and the others ...
Then a 90 corner with S corners after, with mud in the S. A lot of 2WD were too cautious, quite disappointing, probably due to the rain.
And finally, I saw a stage more or less without rain. Fast corners on a way down from an hill, with a 90 corners ending it. Here you saw why most of them where here, much more attack.
The rally ended with drama, as Rebout (leader) and Beaubelique (3rd) retired during the last stage ! So Galpin won :) But he had mechanical problems, and there was a lot of suspens if he was able - or not - to come back to Samer !
Hello all,
Here our video from Rallye Cardabelles, that made Cohete Suarez winner of 208 Cup!
We will wait the Var Rallye for the Junior Title, between Berfa and López.

Entrylist of next week's Critérium des Cévennes(penultimate round of the french tarmac championship)available on http://www.asaherault.fr/#Criterium_des_Cevennes.C ;)
Not a big entry for big cars though...the victory should be to either Pierre Roché or Yoann Bonato :mark:
Every year the same here ... time to put it in D2 and let another event going into first division.
Nice opportunity for Bonato. I hope he could win.
Video of today shakedown in Critérium des Cévennes ;)

I know this is not on for a few weeks , but will there be a better entry for Rallye Du Var ? and if so who ?
Rallye du Var always has a good entry list. But for this year ... I don't know. Cuoq could be titled this week end, so he won't go to the Var. Maurin will do Vaucluse (gravel), so he won't go to the Var too. Expected "top" entries are Salanon (Fiesta WRC), Brunson (Fiesta WRC), Roché (Mini WRC), Magnou (206 WRC), Bonato (208 T16), ...
You can follow entries there : http://www.var-rallye.fr/
(Concurrents Nat --> Liste des engagés)
Only the beginning, let's wait.
