didnt post it because its something new,but because they could be rented with homologation updates.
We had a conversation here ,about who is going to rent it when they will be no homologation updates with the new aero for example.

As Citroen have quit WRC then what use are the WRCar's to them... sit them in a museum ?
If no-one can afford to buy/rent the C3's they would gain more by letting a private team have them and get the good publicity, plus the exposure on rallies.
I think for a private team it would be easier to rent them.. otherwise they could end up like Valery Gorban, having punch of Mini WRC cars.. :D
Remember Adapta’s attempt to run the ‘17 Fiesta? Current WRC cars are almost impossible to be run by privateers. Besides, from the interviews Budar gave it’s not clear that the cars could get 2020 upgrades (probably they wouldn’t).
Btw, Budar confirmed to Auto-Hebdo that the aero-pack delay was mostly due to FIA’s lack of rules clarification and that after Ogier pull-out (no details about the parting agreement) they talked to Neuville, but they could only offer him a 1 year contract (according to their 2019-20 plan).
Interesting questions; why not move them to ‘WRC future’ thread?
There`s the money part, ofc, but in Ostberg`s case, there was also the case of lacking spareparts, setups and having to test with his one and only car also. Ofc also due to budget, but also M-Sport not able to provide anything as fast as their maincars. So i think that if someone, a Sheik or Serderidis for example, is interested and satisfied with the offered package, they will do something.
So what was the problem that Adapta had to run the '17 Fiesta?
Everyone was saying it was expensive... ok so it's the cost of running the car.
Was there anything else? Logistics? Parts? Technical team? Mechanics? Engine? Up-keep?
If you think back about Østberg's 2017 season, he was often on the pace, but had some issues that dropped him. Rear wheel bearings broke numerous times, from a part that was made stronger in the M-Sport cars. Also some hydraulic/electronic issues which plagued M-Sport only early in the season. Also, had he continued in 2018, the car would have started to lack upgrades that the M-Sport cars had.
At most, I can see some hobbyist/gentleman driver using the C3 WRC's, but no one with a competitive target.
I think Petter Solberg proved that point almost 10 years ago now....
The big difference now is the number of established WRC driver's without a seat.
If some of them can get together and get the money from sponsors for just a year in the C3's, they can stay in the eyes of the existing teams.
With the new car Regs coming it will only be a short-term spend. I really hope Citroen will do a deal to see these cars again.
Ok fine, thats it then let's just give up... leave the C3 WRCs going to waste and a bunch of driver's sitting at home. Great idea.
Mads Ostberg
It's a sad day for @CitroenRacing, WRC and for us. It will be difficult to find a seat with one less team at the end of the year, but I won't give up! I'm not done with WRC and I hope WRC isn't done with me. I'll do anything required to get back in a rally car again! #nevergiveup ! https://t.co/zibJQ68f58
C3 Had a lot of bad publicity during last season. Why should anyone rent/buy something that has proven to be flawed? Privateer drivers count every penny and renting/buying a car from msport is much safer.
But all that is my opinion. Conclusion is that IF i had the money and could sponsor someone , i would not let him drive c3.
In the end, I bet Mads ends up running a team with C3's and keep complaining about bad setups :D
Citroen says its C3 World Rally Car is available to be bought or hired for next season, after the manufacturer withdrew its works' team following the departure of Sebastien Ogier for 2020.

They also said they could rent out cars for 2019, and there was talk about PH Sport running them.
We all saw how many drivers did that.
In a different world with a few different management decisions made we could be looking ahead to 2020 with Citroen fielding a star studded team comprising Loeb, Ogier & Lappi. 2 rally gods and a Finn who used to be described as faster than god.
Alpha dogs of these caliber at their prime of their carrier really don't mesh well, it is bound to get toxic very soon as they compete for victory.
I will miss Citroen, with the new aero kit, the car looks sick. Too bad we won't see it compete on the stages.
After all a bit surprised that Lappi decided to rent M-Sport car over Citroen. Last year Citroen was in title contender speed and like Lappi himself said there was a lot of progress seen in a pipeline. He might have had a good opportunity to get financially amicable deal with PSA and to get some familiar resources from Citroen continuing the work around the familiar car in PH-Sport environment.
Well, hopefully we will see many C3 WRC on action with other drivers then, starting from Monte!
Very disappointed not to see Ostberg in C3 WRC. Many thought that last year's R5 campaign was an exception but it seems to become new normal for him :( Well, better R5 than nothing.
All cards on Loubet now.

Not that they're returning any time soon but perhaps another hint we’ll see one of the old PSA group return.
Also, I’m pretty sure at this point someone over there reads our discussions here about the fact that we don’t have a 4th manufacturer since they’ve left.
