[WRC] News & rumours (part II)

what car can Saab in their range enter in the WRC?
hope though that Italian manufacturer comes back in the WRC, and not two desperate manufacturers (like Hyundai and seat in the early WRC days)

I've already started to dream about this holidays with cold beers and friends in front of the TV watching rally all day long :)

I would've hoped Renault to be one of them (they have a "pre-WRC project" going on with the Megane RS), but I'm not sure how far they're commiting to F1, maybe solely as an engine supplier in the future, in mind of a possible Lotus takeover.

Saab sounds unlikely, they're in such bad shape right now. Maybe after a big Russian or Chinese investment, but otherwise no. Subaru is possible, but I would prefer Toyota; a big VW rival. Combined with Bridgestone maybe?

Fiat re-entering would be a dream come true, the Italians have been absent for too long.

RENAULT-NISSAN! :D

Saab is not possible. They cannot even pay the salaries for the workers! Why would they focus on Wrc when they can't even afford one of the most basic things of all?

Yes, it would be great to see the Italians back in the WRC - however, it seems as if the FIAT board are swayed by Luca Di Montezemelo - and as such, all money/resources goes to F1/Ferrari.
A shame there is no FIAT,Alfa or Lancia in top line Motorsport....

I know that they are not in a good moment, but I heard about some "help" from outside. I agree that it's not likely their entry in the WRC, but if they say there are 2 manufacturers talking with FIA, then who may be other than one between Toyota and Subaru if not Saab? Maybe Renault? I did not heard anything about other manufacturers...
