I'd say it would still provide much more downforce in a straight line - but maybe wouldn't lose as much downforce during sideways moments as a traditional wing.

I'm no expert though! Just an amateur looking at the shape, trying to visualise airflow over it and thinking about what forces that would apply. The angled sides look like they would direct air upwards (and channel onto the main wing), giving an opposite force downwards.
